I'm in need of ideas for a closing party for our church youth group and need a 'theme' that would be easy to decorate for and have games for. We've done 'beach' and 'camping' in the past. I'm not creative...help please!!!

Need more info. End of year...in January? Why is it a "closing party?" Is it the end of the youth group? What ages are we talking about? I'm confused.

How about a Luau? A Hawaiian theme? They have stuff like that at the party store. Or maybe a western theme with cowboy hats?

I'm not very creative either, but my dh and I have a "luau" party with our friends over every summer. Nothing too crazy. We have a bunch of leis and give them to the girls when they walk in. Everyone wears a hawaiian shirt or just something with bright colors. We have a few island/hawaiian signs and serve tropical drink...i know yours would have to be non alcoholic so you could maybe serve punch or smoothies? Serve fruit salad. Decorate with pineapples as centerpieces. Play hawaiian music, they actually sell Luau or hawaiian themed CD's at party stores too!


Or maybe a Mexican fiesta! Serve tacos, chips, salsa , play mexican music.....

that's all i can come up with right now, but i will keep thinking.

well for the mexican one you could of course do a pinata

hawaiian one could have a limbo contest (i don't know if that is at all hawaiian but it's a beach type thing) maybe a hula dancing contest? Hmmm, maybe i would have to go to Hawaii for some research LOL

It's fifth grade girls, in mid April in the classroom likely. It's just the end of the year party, they will be back next year for their final year.
