Heidi, there is a lot of very interesting research going on right now regarding fat hormones and weight management, if you want to read more, do a search online for these two hormones:

Grehlin

Adiponectin

I know!! I saw that, too. Our newspaper said that scientists feel that there is more going on than people eating too much and moving less, because obesity seems to be epidemic. Research is ongoing. It will be very interesting.

I am very interested in learning about all this too. I have recently considered having either bariatric surgery or having a lap band put in but I don't know anyone who has had that done so I have no one to talk to about it. Either way, something needs to be done.

Hey Sandy, I am curious to know what you have tried in the past. If you care to share, hope I'm not intruding. I would look at surgery as an absolute last course of action, by saying that I mean your health is in a dire state. There are just so many risks to surgery; the benefits would have to out weigh the risks. How much have you looked into surgery? Anyway just curious.

personally i think that it is the life style and chemicals that have changed. we dont work so hard physically as we have many machines to do the job for us...... and hte chemical additives are not natural to to what we should be putting into our bodies.
i had gastric by pass surgery fourteen months ago and would do it again! my life has changed so much and is so worth it. u can email me at sewinsofun @ hotmail.com ( no spaces ) dont get me wrong its not easy to this day but so worth it for me. i had five lil cuts done and they healed well and fast. after that it was all down hill for the scales lol
