Home from the Hospital

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2006: Home from the Hospital
By Heaventree on Friday, December 15, 2006 - 12:03 pm:

Hello,

I'm back! The surgery went well, but the drugs made me a little nauseous. They took one pound off each side, can you believe that!

Even with all the bandages and drains I look much smaller. I haven't really seen the results yet because I have to keep the dressing and bra on until next Wednesday. The surgeon said that I won't even see the final outcome for a year.

Not feeling to much pain, actually a lot less than I thought. So I'm off to sleep. Thanks everyone for thinking of me.

{{{HUGS}}} I hope recovery continues to go well!

I have been away a few weeks on vacation--so I missed your post. I had the same surgery many years ago. If you have any questions, I *may* be able to help. You will look much smaller than the final result because of the bandages.
I did not have any pain from surgery. I did scar badly BUT I always scar from everything (a scratch will be a scar on me). Even with scars, I do not regret surgery. It will be a big difference in your life. I had over 2 pounds on each side removed. At 5' tall, it was a lot to be carrying around. The first thing I noticed was my back pain was gone.
I wish you a speedy recovery!

I'm so glad to hear from you! I've been worried about you!

Ditto Adena! I'm so glad you were able to let us know how you're doing. Sorry to hear the drugs made you feel ill. But, glad to hear you're not in too much discomfort today.
Continued prayers.

I didn't expect you to be on the computer already! I'm happy to hear you aren't in too much pain and hope that the rest of your recuperation is as pleasantly surprising. {{{Gentle Hugs}}}

I'm glad everything went well, and I'm glad it doesn't hurt too badly! Yikes. 1-2 pounds they have removed from some of you. That's a lot to be carrying around.

Take really good care of yourself - and DON'T LIFT.

By Pamt on Friday, December 15, 2006 - 07:34 pm:

Take it easy and take your pain meds to stay ahead of the pain. Glad things went well! Are we gonna see before and after pics? (Clothed of course :))

By Heaventree on Friday, December 15, 2006 - 08:14 pm:

Thanks everyone!

Pam, I didn't think to take before pictures clothed. LOL So I'll have to find some photos that actually show how big they really were. I do have pictures (clothed) when I was nursing Matthew, but that's probably not a very accurate depiction.

I can't wait to take this bra off, the bandages underneath have some sort of adhesive on them and the itching is making me a bit nuts. Well I'm off to beddy bye again.
