My DD told me last night and I heard it on the radio this morning. He was 71. I was just thinking as I watched it the other night about how convincing he and Doris Roberts are as Raymond's parents.

We all love that show. It is always good for a laugh. May he rest in peace.

Yes, he died on December 12th. He and Doris were very good, as the parents of Raymond and the other guy (can't remember his name.)

The other brother was Robert, Dawn. We watch reruns of this show just about everyday. I still can't believe he's gone. He was just doing commercials here lately. I will definitely miss him...

An interesting tidbit I heard about him when the morning radio show was discussing his death is that John Lennon was his best man at his wedding. Those are two men I'd never have placed as friends. I was sad to hear that he had passed away.

Yes Cori, I had read that, too. I guess his wife is also very good friends with Yoko. You are right. They seemed to be very different people.

I also read that he started out to be a priest. He had been educated in Catholic schools. He spent three years in a monastery and left, saying that it was like "living in the Middle Ages" and an "unnatural life".

Although he played in all kinds of roles, he certainly was a good comedy actor. He was really convincing as Raymond's Dad. He had excellent comedic timing.
