Contact lenses - online?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2006: Contact lenses - online?
By Lorebunde on Thursday, December 14, 2006 - 06:34 pm:

I was just researching contact lenses for those who only wear reading glasses (me). There seems to be one for bifocal wearers. ? is do I have to go to eyedoctor for contacts? I just thought you could buy them right off the shelf in a drugstore or supermarket. Just came from supermarket and couldn't find. As you can tell, I've never worn contacts.

No, you have to go to the eye doctor and get him to "size" your eye and figure out each prescription. Most people have totally different needs for each eye, so you have to buy two boxes.

After you have a prescription for contacts, you can order them on line for pretty good deals.

The eye doctor will probably give you a trial pair to make sure they work okay with you and you like them before you make the commitment to buy them.
