Can't believe I can't find Baby Alive!!

She was an after thought, and then we got really excited about buying her. Now I find out that apparently EVERYONE wants one of these things! No one in town has them and they are no where online except ebay...not even going there. Sooooo bummed. I have a rain check in at Target and I'm hoping against hope. DH says to not get excited because it's probably not going to happen.

Really bummed. Natalie would love it. :(

I can't believe that they still have Baby Alive!!!

I had one in like - 1978!

I've heard lots of bad reviews about this new version. Lots of moms say that she doesn't eat like she should, she's very messy since she uses the bathroom, and the "skin" on her face splits after a very short time.

Have you checked out any other dolls like Baby Born? That one seems to be pretty neat. It does realistic things, more so than Baby Alive, I think.

Baby Born

Also there is one called Little Mommy Play All Day Toddler Doll... She doesn't eat, though.

And a more expensive, more "advanced" doll called Amazing Amanda:

Maybe one of these will be a fit... Good luck! I know how it feels to get really excited about a gift and then not be able to find it!

We have Little Mommy doll. Baby Alive is soooooo cool! We don't plan on Natalie "feeding" her anything but water for a while. :) It says that you must give her lots of fluids when she eats the "food" so that she will get rid of all of it and not get clogged up inside. That seems like a pain. The food part can come later, or never for that matter!LOL

I just got one on ebay for a reasonable price and cheap shipping. I'm excited and VERY surprised that I found one in my price range. I called Hasbro and they said they don't plan for any to be available until after the holidays, so I start checking ebay with a set price in mind and actually found it. I'm really excited and totally surprised!

Thanks for the suggestions, too, Adena!
Cocoa- I think she's been brought back this year, based on the original version. I never had one.

I had no idea she was sold out. I was seeing her everywhere for awhile. About a month ago we bought Baby Alive at Sam's club for my 7 yr old daughter. She has been asking for it for awhile. So Santa is bringing it for her LOL

Rylee got the Baby Alive for her birthday. She kept asking when she was going to be a big sister, so I had to get it for her. I told that she was sort of a big sister now. She is messy, but we just give her water. The food leaked out of her diaper, and I am just not into changing that...lol. Pretend play is fun too. No changing diapers there.

We found the Baby Alive at Sam's Club.

We saw one about a month ago when we did our Christmas shopping for her, but just decided this past week to return something and get this instead. Now they are nowhere! It's crazy.

I know you said no to ebay, but I searched and there are quite a few on there going for reasonable prices. :)

I think she said in her second post that she ended up going on ebay and finding one for her = )

By Reds9298 on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 01:52 pm:

Thanks Breann. I got one for $59, which is only $9 more than I would have paid ordering it from Hasbro anyway. It worked out so well I can't believe it!

I bought one last night for my daughter at Target. It was on sale for 29.00. Do you want me to see if they have any more. When I was there, they had a whole shelf full!

By Reds9298 on Saturday, December 9, 2006 - 10:15 pm:

You're kidding Shellyg! They were on sale here for $35 and went like hotcakes. No one here even has the accessories, let alone the doll.

You should pick up a few for yourself and sell them on ebay. :)

I'm glad you found her!!!! I had one when I was little and I loved her :)
