Does anyone know how or where to get this in the grocery store. I need it for a recipe. How does it taste? I have never used it before. Thanks

I love pesto. I buy it in a small jar by the spaghetti sauces. I buy basil pesto, it is green, it tastes like italian food (garlicy with basil). A little goes a long ways!

I add it on cooked pasta, instead of sauce, I also use it in a great cheese dip. Take slices of provolone cheese, 1 pkgs of cream cheese, 1 tub of feta cheese, basil pesto and sundried tomatos. mix the feta and cream cheese together then assemble like a lasanga, provolone, cheese mix, pesto, sundried tomatos then repeat. I start and end with the provolone. Serve with ritz chips :)

If your grocery store has a section with fresh, refrigerated pasta, it may be there too. I use it in lasagna, on pasta, on chicken and fish, and on sandwiches.

I love basil pesto also. I get it at Trader Joes, but have also seen it in full-service supermarkets. It will either be with the sphagetti sauces or near the pasta, or, as Collette points out, in the refrigerator section. Trader Joes has different varieties of pesto, but I stick to the basil pesto, and, as those above, use it on pasta instead of sphagetti sauce (I'm not fond of tomato sauces in general).
