Does anyone sell AVON?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2006: Does anyone sell AVON?
By Heaventree on Monday, December 4, 2006 - 09:43 am:

Just wondering, I signed up online and the rep for my area is coming this afternoon. I'm not expecting to make any money I'm just doing it for something to do and to get to know my neighbours a little better. I wanted to get in on the Christmas rush rather than start in January when no one has any money.

My hubby did as a high schooler..LOL. His mom was officially the rep, but he took all the orders and did paperwork, he said it was good and easy money for him. LOL i married the avon "lady".

Kaye, that's too funny. :)

Well I'm all signed up, she gave me my start-up kit and we talked about me bitzing the neighbourhood as there is no one selling in my area. So she went out to the car and brought me a BOX of 60 booklets. Guess I'll be busy over the next few days. No time for MV!

Did you guys know that Avon has another line called Mark? It's comparable to MAC which I love. I was so exicted to see the catalogue today.

I remember when I was little the Avon Lady would come by with her sample kit and sit in our living room. My Mom and her would visit and I would marvel at the sample case and all the little lipstick samples. Which btw they still make. But no nice sample case for me times have changed.

Nope, don't sell Avon. However, I have considered signing up to sell Arbonne (sp?) (I wear mary kay, but am ready to change) and/or something else... The Usborne Books looked kind of fun and the Discovery Toys and of course Pampered Chef! lol Couldnt choose so I didnt sign up for anything. :)

I wanted something different to do here too. ;) Good luck and have fun!! I hope it goes good for you. :)

You know I am surprised I was sure some ladies on the board sold Avon? I think we have some that sell the Discvocery Toys, etc...

I did not know Avon had another line called Mark. I'll have to look it up.

Have fun! :)

I'll order from you too. As much as I wash my hands at work, Silicone Glove is the best hand lotion I have ever found and I need some. My email is pamela dot terrell at gmail.com

You guys are so sweet thanks so much. (Blushing) Please don't think it was my intention to solicit orders from this site. I was just sharing and was wondering if anyone else here did this.

I really don't think it's possible for me to sell in the US as when speaking with my district manager she mentioned that selling province to province had it's challenges as I don't believe that Avon drop ships. Selling into another country would probably be impossible.

If you don't have reps in your area please go to the Avon homepage you can order online.

Here is a link.

Avon

Thanks again.:)

Heaventree, I don't think you intend to solicit at Momsview, particularly when you make it clear that you can't sell to people in the U.S. and give the link to the Avon site. I know you've been around long enough to know the rules and follow them.

I hope you do well at selling Avon in your community. I also have fond memories of the Avon Lady visiting my mom and giving me one of the little sample tubes of lipstick.

I sold Avon when my DD was 2. She is 34 now, so that gives you an idea of how long ago that was. I liked it, but mostly because I could get the items for myself and for gifts at my cost. I really don't remember making a lot of money out of it, but a lot of good friends who are friends to this day. It was fun and my little daughter, who has always been a real girly girl loved playing "make up" with Mommy.

I, too, remember the Avon lady coming to the house and always leaving Mom those little samples, including the little lipstick. My first lipstick was an Avon that my Mom bought for me.

The best thing that you can do to build your client base is ask friends who work in large offices or factories to bring books in for you. If they take some orders for you, let them have a little discount, or give them some specials.

Do be careful going door to door. The world has changed, and you need to be careful when you enter a home. Back in the fifties, women were home all day and looked forward to the Avon lady's visit.
