Thank you for posting this, Heaventree! It's a great article. I've even printed it out. Poor body image is something I've always struggled with, and now that I'm mom to a little girl, I am trying to overcome this and adopt a healthier attitude. Thank you!:-)

Your welcome Nicki. You know I mentioned how important it is if you have girls but it's probably just as important if you have boys. I have a friend who has no problem with her boys seeing her undressed as she wants her boys to know what a real women looks like. I'm not sure I'll go that far, however, it just as important for boys to see a women with a positive self-image and to know that women and men for that matter do not look like people who are portrayed in the media.

I struggled with the way I looked growing up as well. I was the only girl in grade 5 to wear a bra and I was not overweight. There were times as a teenager where I would literally not eat for weeks and had friends who struggled with Buliemia. I don't think it's getting any easier for young women today.
