Tree is up and decorated!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2006: Tree is up and decorated!

Well, my dd and I got home from the store today, and dh had the tree put up and all the decorations out!

We JUST finished decorating the living room. The tree is up and decorated, and every doorway, shelf, and window in the room has garland around it, and the entry into the dining room has twinkling bell lights up! Ashton is excited because I put a folding tray up in front of our window and placed fake snow on it and let him put our Christmas 101 Dalmation McDonald's Happy Meal toys around a miniature fiberoptic tree. It's really cute.

Our stockings are hung on the fireplace, and our Nativity Scene is on the mantle. There are decorations everywhere! We're definitely ready for Christmas, here!

You've been busy haven't you? Wow! Waaaaay too early for me yet. I won't even start thinking about decorating until after Thanksgiving.

Wow. Did you take any pictures?

We got 4 inches of snow yesterday and now I want to see Christmas lights! Really bad! I don't care that it's before Thanksgiving. It would be so pretty now!

We're decorating over Thanksgiving this year, but usually do it the weekend before. Yay for you! We have so much stuff that it's such a chore and I'm so glad when it's all done!

We usually decorate the weekend of Thanksgiving break. We've never decorated this early. But we all needed Christmas right now, so we decided to go for it!

Dawn, I can't remember where I put my digital camera, but as soon as I find it, I'll take pictures and post them for you!

Too early for me, too! I take one holiday at a time. We will not be decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgivings Day.

Can't wait to see pictures! I think this is just what all of you needed to feel better. Ashton's display sounds so cute. Lara put up her small tree in her bedroom today. I love how excited she gets, humming to herself the whole time. I'm sure Ashton had fun, too!

Dawn, when we lived in the snow I loved to see the Christmas lights. Like you, after the first good snow, I couldn't wait!

We usually decorate over the Thanksgiving holiday. But, this year we are going to my parents for Thanksgiving. So, dh is going to get all the stuff out next weekend, and we will probably put the tree up, but we won't decorate it until we get back. Dh is going to put the outside lights up because it is suppose to be warm next weekend, but we won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving.

I'm impressed!

Our tree went up the day after Halloween but it is not fully decorated. We have started the outdoor lights and decorations. After Thanksgiving, the tree will get ornaments and the indoor decorations will go up.

This will be the first year we don't put up our tree rught after thanksgiving. We are having Rylee's birthday party the Sunday after, and I don't want any of the kids to become too rambunctious and break something, so I think we will wait until MOnday.
