I REALLY NEED THOUSANDS OF PRAYERS!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive November 2006: I REALLY NEED THOUSANDS OF PRAYERS!
By Bellajoe on Thursday, October 26, 2006 - 02:45 pm:

I know this belongs on the Prayer board, but I am desparate and need you all to see this now.

My cousin had a baby yesterday. He was due on Nov. 12 but they did a C-Section early because she had Placenta Previa (sp?). It sounds like they thought there was something wrong with the baby too. So baby Logan was born Oct. 25 weighing 6lb. 10 oz.
My mom called her sister (cousin's mom) this morning. I guess they called both sets of grandparents back to the hospital a.s.a.p.
She said something about the white blood cells eating the red ones, or Vice Versa, i don't remember. But it didn't sound good. The doctors even told my cousin to get the baby baptized now. :( That really doesn't sound good. She also said that there was something wrong with the baby's arm. I'm getting this info 3rd hand so I don't know many details.

I feel awful for them. I wish I lived closer to them. They live in Indianapolis, 6 hours away. They got married last October, and now their poor little one is fighting for his life in NICU.

Please say thousands of prayers for little Logan Charles.
thank you :(

Poor little guy!! Prayers and hugs from me for all of them!!!

By Kernkate on Thursday, October 26, 2006 - 03:24 pm:

{{{Patti}}} Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.
I had Placenta Previa with my 1st born who is almost 21 and it is scary. What it is, the afterbirth is coming out first and putting pressure on the babies skull and could cause death and also can cause hemmoraging in the mother which could also be fatal.
We both were very lucky.
Thats all I know about PP but prayers are with everyone. That is just terrible.

By Andi on Thursday, October 26, 2006 - 04:33 pm:

By Bellajoe on Thursday, October 26, 2006 - 05:08 pm:

My mom just called. She heard from her sister. It sounds like all our prayers are working. She said things are starting to look up. He had been jaundice, and that is starting to get better. He is still getting transfusions, i'm guessing for the blood problem, but that is getting better too.

Please keep praying, and i will keep you informed.

Prayers from another indiana mom to them ...

By Dawnk777 on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 11:36 am:

Sending prayers. I'm glad the jaundice is getting better!

By Bellajoe on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 01:40 pm:

They think he may have brain damage from the bad jaundice and the red blood cells. I guess he had a really high count of red blood cells, but the transfusions are helping that.

We have to wait and see if he has brain damage. :(

Another cousin told me that the mother of the baby (my cousin) is trying to stay strong for her dh, it sounds like he is not doing very well thru this, which is to be expected. He was SO excited about the pregnancy and the baby.

By Emily7 on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 02:40 pm:

They are still in my prayers!

By Dawnk777 on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 05:18 pm:

{{{HUGS}}}

By Bea on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 07:13 pm:

Lord, please care for little Logan Charles. Help him to be whole and strong. Uphold his parents during this frightening time. Only You have this power, and we entreat You to be merciful.

By Cat on Friday, October 27, 2006 - 09:28 pm:

Lots and lots of prayers being sent up. Hugs to everyone.

By Bellajoe on Saturday, October 28, 2006 - 05:17 pm:

Thank you all.

Bea that was so nice, thanks! :)

Lol, i'm not sure if his name is Charles Logan, or Logan Charles. I do know they are going to call him Logan. Thru all this craziness, i guess i never really caught his name!

I don't think anything has really changed. The only report i've gotten today was from my mom. I guess his IV fell out last night. They ended up putting it in is belly button. :(

I did get a picture of him through email. He is beautiful and has lots of blond hair.
The mom goes home tomorrow, but the baby has to stay in the hospital for a while. The parents are able to hold him, so that's good! No one else can hold him though.

By Emily7 on Saturday, October 28, 2006 - 07:13 pm:

That is great that the parnets can hold him, that will help him so much.
He is still in my prayers, please keep the updates coming.

By Karen~admin on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 08:58 am:

Many thoughts and prayers for your cousin and her family. :-( It's' the most heartbreaking thing when a baby is involved. :-(

By Bellajoe on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 12:47 pm:

Good news! It seems he is getting better, and my cousin (her name is Kathy) got to hold and feed the baby yesterday, which as i'm sure you all know, made her a very happy new mommy!

And his name is Charles Logan, but they are calling him Logan....his dad's name is Charles.

:) Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 01:35 pm:

happy yell woohoo

That's great news!

By Emily7 on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 04:06 pm:

I am so very happy that Logan is doing so much better. I bet Kathy is just beaming right now being able to fee him!

By Pandamamaoo4 on Sunday, October 29, 2006 - 06:44 pm:

I'm glad that Logan is doing better, I too will keep him in our prayer. I know his MaMa and Dad are on cloud nine.

By Pandamamaoo4 on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 - 10:25 am:

How is Logan doing today? :)

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 - 10:49 am:

I have not heard any more news lately. I know my cousin came home from the hospital on Sunday, but that's all I know.

Thank you so much for asking. I will let you all know when he comes home from the hospital!

By Bellajoe on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 08:21 am:

Great News! He is done with his transfusions, his bilirubin count is 5.7 which apparently is good. His arm is broken :(, i guess it got broken somehow during delivery, which was by c-section.
But he will probably be going home really soon!!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!

By Dawnk777 on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 08:55 am:

The bili is at a good level! Sarah got up to 17, after she was born. At 21, they put them under the light. (Sarah was 4 weeks early.)

Poor guy that his arm got broken. :( Hopefully, that will heal up well.

By Dandjmom on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 12:35 pm:

So no brain damage right? Glad to hear that your cousin and her baby will soon be together at home. And his arm will heal perfectly.

By Emily7 on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 12:41 pm:

I am so glad that he is doing so well.

By Bellajoe on Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 01:45 pm:

She hasn't said anything about brain damage, so hopefully that's not the case.

They say the arm is already healing and that it should be fully healed very soon.

By Tripletmom on Friday, November 10, 2006 - 01:18 pm:

Patti,How is baby Logan doing?
