Sorry but the military doesn't offer pre-deployment travel for parents. Maybe greyhound might be cheaper than a plane ticket. Is he taking his pre-deployment leave? It would be cheaper for him to go to her. He can get a military discount on greyhound and most airlines.

I would check with closest Airforce base to her. Sometimes if they have a flight out to where she is needing to go, then they can make arrangements for her to fly military. Of course she might have to have a military ID. I really don't know. But it is worth a shot. We have done this once. (no charge either)

How about her church (or your's)? Would they take up a collection to get her a bus or plane ticket? How about soliciting a local business or putting it out on the radio?

Maybe a local VFW or American Legion post could help? Or the MWR fund on the base (morale, welfare and recreation)?

I don't know of anything either. I WISH I did. We were part of the military community for thirty years. Perhaps it WOULD be easier for him to go to her.

As a Mom, it breaks my HEART to think that a Mom wouldn't be able to see her son before he ships out.

Maybe we could start a fund on MV?
