The chair is attached to my backside

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2006: The chair is attached to my backside
By Pamt on Saturday, September 16, 2006 - 09:50 pm:

I have literally been sitting in front of my computer for 2 solid days typing away and only have 11 pages to show for it. I have bitten the bullet to get my &^$@%^ general exams for school written. I can't start my dissertation until these are written and orally defended. I'm doing the most difficult and boring one first and hopefully it will be downhill from here. After this paper, 3 more to go. :(

I WILL have all 20-25 pages finished before I go to bed tomorrow night and WILL have at least 15-17 pages before I go to bed tonight.

Anyone else want to jump in a be accountable to complete a goal before bedtime tomorrow...clean out a closet, balance the checkbook, or anything? Misery loves company you know. :)

Sure, I'll bite. I need to do this anyhow! I will break down and read all four chapters that need to be read in my Biology class by bedtime tomorrow. And I will get one of my labs finished. Yikes, what are you doing to me?!?!

By Pamt on Sunday, September 17, 2006 - 01:06 am:

It's midnight here. My eyesight is blurry and my back is killing me, but I am hitting the hay with 16 pages complete. I have realized that I have to trek out to campus tomorrow to copy an article I need that's not online--GRRR, but I'll finish tomorrow for sure. Hopefully I'll also be able to squeeze in a nap and some family time too.

Did you get much done Adena? 2 chapters read perhaps?

By Dawnk777 on Sunday, September 17, 2006 - 03:13 am:

Well, maybe before midnight on Sunday. I was gone on a trip to Madison today and it's 2am and we just got home! I'm so glad to be back in humble Sheboygan. It depends on how tired I am tomorrow. I'll try tackling my closet and see how far I get.

OK ladies - whatever else you do - BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP YOUR WORK.

By Luvn29 on Sunday, September 17, 2006 - 03:25 pm:

Sorry, just now got on-line. Yep, I have two chapters read, and I've also read through definitions and such in my study guide. I have read through two labs in my biology lab book, also. So now, I am back on task at reading through the other chapters, and getting on that lab!

I still have to start on my closet. I'll get upstairs now.

I admire your committment.

My goal is to file what is still on my desk (I've been trying to get the last 2.5 years worth of filing done since June started) I have only two more boxes.

So Adena and Dawn? How goes it?

I didn't finish last night though I was up until 1:30 am typing away. However, I have just typed my last word!!! Yippee!! I ended up with 24 pages. I have to add in a couple of references and proofread, but I need to take a break from it until tonight so I can go back and approach it with a fresh brain and rested eyes. I'm spending the rest of this raining dreary day cleaning house and vegging on the couch. Then I get to start reading articles for the next paper. Woohoo! (NOT! :()

I went through a box, that I know I haven't touched, since we moved here! I threw out my bridal shower cards (from 1987) and some wedding invites from the 80's that I thought I wanted to save! Ugh. I didn't even know who some of the people were anymore!

I also cleaned up the little area in the closet, where Jasmine sleeps sometimes. It's a start anyway.

I have read all four chapters, and studied all four chapters in the study guide, and studied all of the definitions. I didn't get my lab finished, but the reading was what I kept putting off! So I'm happy!
