I feel so guilty, the baby got some sunburn on his face and arms. I don't know how he was under an umbrella. I thought he was in the shade. I feel so bad.

How bad is it? Cloths soaked in VERY strong tea helps sooth it. Something to do with the tanic acid in tea............

Don't feel bad Brooke, we have all been there!

It's not real bad, but the guilt is killing me.

Hugs Don't feel so bad. By the time your kids are grown and out of the house, you'll have much worse things to feel guilty about. Oh, the stories we could tell... :)

The tea is the best idea. As for how...chances are the umbrella isn't UV rated. Cloth can let through quite a bit rays. Hats usually do the best job.

Went to the beach with my dad and step mom...they kind of invited themselves on my family outing. Usually I adored them, but sm was being difficult, etc, we finally got to the beach, they put up this tarp and promptly sat under it the whole time. So I was on the beach alone with 3 tiny kids and just furious. Turns out the tarp had NO uv protection. They both ended up with the worst sunburns ever! Me who sat on the beach and the kids were fine because we used sunscreen :) the moral of my story, no matter your age, we all make mistakes!
