Woo Hoo...the shuttle launched and all looked good. Who knows what we may find out in the next couple days, but initially it seemed to go very well.

That's good news!

We watched it live on television as they counted down the minutes getting prepared and then, the actual launch. It amazes me every time, how quickly they reach those top speeds, and how fast they are miles above Earth! They had an awesome camera view on CNN or whatever we were watching, where the camera was on the back of the last jet rocket thingie... You could actually see the view of the Earth from above it as they were higher and higher, and then as the shuttle released it, and rolled off from it, that was just an awesome sight.

I prayed the entire time to keep the crew safe. I couldn't imagine how scary it would be to be on board or the loved one watching, especially.

Now as long as they make it safely back with no problems!

We all watch with awe. It literally brings tears to my eyes, just from fear more than anything.

We personally know a couple of the crew and the cap com, so it is like family going up.

We were in Ft Pierce Florida on vacation on a boat in the ocean when the shuttle went off and it was awesome to know we actually saw it in the air. We were parked at a cove and everyone was yelling and cheering. Of course my video camera that had already been acting up decided not to tape so I hurried and got my camera and got a picture of the smoke from the shuttle.
