As I posted already we are going on a cruise in August. We have 2 inside rooms(not connecting). It was me and the girls in one and my husband and my son in the other.
Yesterday I was IMing with my husbands sister. She wanted to come out and visit in Aug or Sept(Shes married no kids). She was asking dates and stuff on when we would be here and vacation dates etc.. I suggested maybe she could come with us on the cruise, seeing we have 2 rooms.She said she would love too, because her husband has no desire to ever go on a cruise. She was very excited I asked.(of course she is paying her own way and stuff LOL).. We talked to the travel agent about it, and we would have to rearrange one of the rooms. It wouldnt be a problem because she would be in the room with the 2 older kids, and me and my husband would have Faith with us. I do not know if this will pan out or not.
I know I would of not invited her if we only had one room.
But, this is my husbands only sibling. She lives in Texas, and we only see them once a year.She has had various forms of cancer since she was a teenager, but has always had a good strong outlook on life.
Am I crazy to invite her into our family vacation at the last minute??? My kids are very excited. Although it is not a done deal, she is suppose to call us back today after she talks with her husband about this.

Of course you're crazy, Jackie! Didn't you know that already? Seriously, I think it's great you invited her and I probably would have done the same thing. As long as your dh is on board with it, why not? It will make for a great vacation, you'll have an extra set of eyes for the kids, and it'll create great memories for everyone and strengthen the bond your kids have with their aunt, whom they don't get to see often. My dh would never go for inviting either of his sisters to go on vacation with us (neither would I). They literally ARE crazy (and one of them's kinda scary!). I hope she gets to go with you.

We cruise/vacation with my parents every year. It creates special memories for my kids who only see them once a year. Your are not crazy!

My sister went with us on our last big family vacation and we had a good time. As others have said, it's an extra pair of eyes and hands for helping with the kids and possibly a babysitter so you and your DH can really spend some time together. Have fun!

One question on the two seperate rooms though. Do they have larger, family suite type rooms? We are wanting to go on a cruise (well, my dh is....not so much me) with the kids and we would like to do one big room. Is that even an option?

I don't think it sounds crazy at all!! I think it'll be nice to see her, and from the sounds of it she could probably use some time with family. The kids will enjoy having her around, and it's likely to give you and hubby some alone time, not to mention time to catch up with her.

LOL Cat and Bobbie, I think everyone has a scary family member I happen to have 2, a scary SIL and a very scary sister that I wouldn't trust alone with their own kids!
