Female problems

For the last year or so, what feels like pain in my uterus comes and goes. It feels swollen there (not bloated) and is uncomfortable to push on that area. I have also noticed a foul-smelling odor when I urinate about half the time. It is nowhere near my ovaries. I'm FINALLY going to the gyn on Thurs. because it's been bothering me a lot this past week(just for an ultrasound, doc is on vacation this week), and I'm wondering if anyone else has had symptoms li ke this? I had a c-section, if that means anything.

Tonight it feels more like a UTI on the inside, although I don't have to urinate or have the pressure of urinating. Wouldn't I be seriously ill if I'd h ad a UTI for this long?
Any thoughts would help.:)

Since your doctor is gone, is there an urgent care clinic you could to, so they could do a urinalysis, and see if you have a UTI, or not?

A kidney infection usually gives people BAD back pain, and they sometimes have a fever.

I can go in anytime to my gyn for a UTI check. If it feels this bad tomorrow, I just might do that even though I'm scheduled to go in Thursday afternoon for the ultrasound.

I don't have any back pain, and usually when I *do* have a UTI, I run a fever but not today at least. Could it be that I'm dealing with two separate things...currently a UTI and then something else that's been giving me pain for several months???

That could be! LOL! If that's the case, I think I would go in tomorrow, so they could dip a urine. (Do they just use a dipstick? We usually send our UA people to the lab, where I work, but once in a while, we just do the dipstick, right in the department.)

I think they just do dipstick at the office, but it's pretty fancy there (new facility) so I'm not sure. They do the ultrasound right there.
Dawn- Is it possible to have a UTI for a long period of time with no other symptoms other than the pain in the center?

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 - 12:13 am:

I don't know. Whenever I have had a UTI, I'm to the doctor, either that day, or within a day or two, because it hurts so bad to pee, but I think there are a lot of manifestations of a UTI, with different levels and pain and symptoms.

Please get in ASAP. The symptoms are vague enough that you should really be checked out as soon as possible. I don't mean to scare you, I haven't the slightest idea what could be wrong, but better safe than sorry. Oh, and as for the urine smelling foul, different foods can cause that, so that may or may not be related. ((((Deanna))))
