Have a wonderful time at MB and don't forget to take notes for your trip report!! (And don't forget to parasail! LOL) Say "hi" to the beach for us...we sure do wish we were still there...
:)

Woops! For some reason I thought you were leaving on the 11th, but it's the 15th, isn't it! Oh well, let me be the first to wish you a safe trip! :)

By Luvn29 on Saturday, June 10, 2006 - 09:46 pm:

Hehe! I saw this, and thought, whoops! We forgot to leave! Teehee! We will be leaving Friday morning and spending the night with my husband's sister (and her new baby!!!) and then traveling on the next day to THE BEACH!!!

We are already buying items needed (like new undies! LOL!) and packing and are so excited!

I'll definitely have a (LONG) trip report, and we can't wait to parasail for our first time! Our entire family is going to, including Ashton and he's only six!!! He's going with me and hubby, and Emily is going with my dad. Can you tell I'm excited?!?!

Go with Express Watersports in Murrel's Inlet... they are so nice! And you've gotta love the parachutes w/attitude... ("fly with the smile") Are you sure you can't swing by Illinois and pick me up? I won't take much room...

By Luvn29 on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 01:33 am:

We were actually checking out Express Watersports... We have it narrowed down to them and Ocean Watersports in Myrtle Beach. Oh yes, Illinois is right on the way...after all, we are coming from Virginia! LOL!

You wanna hear something that will make you sick? My sister just moved to Myrtle Beach this past weekend after hearing me rave about it for the past year and a half. They have been wanting to move, and they know that the Myrtle Beach area is where we plan on going when we move (after I finish my elementary ed degree and we save enough money for a decent down payment) so they decided to go there so they will be where we are when we move! I am so jealous! But at least once they move out of the small apartment they are in now into something bigger, we will have a great place to go on long weekends!

Couples with no kids, don't they make you sick sometimes?!?!

By Janet on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 03:15 pm:

LOL It does make you crazy, the way they can up and go with little or no planning!

I've been trying to plant the idea of a return trip to MB in dh's head this past week. The girls and I would go back, no prob, but he keeps saying, "there must be other places to see on vacation." Well, true...but...

Try and get that green-eyed monster under control! :) Having your sister there before you could actually work to your advantage (keeping an eye out for a cheap house, once you're ready to make the move).

By Luvn29 on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 04:59 pm:

My husband already knows that Myrtle Beach is THE only place to vacation! teehee! When you've found the perfect place, why look any further? ;)

I've told my sister it will work out wonderfully that she's there because when we get ready to move, we'll have her place to stay while we are down there for me to place resumes and have interviews, and for us to look at real estate. It will be much cheaper than having to stay at a hotel while doing that stuff, because unlike her, we have kids, and have to plan ahead and prepare for a big move!!! We plan on having a job in place, and a home before moving! LOL!

And I know where I will be spending our long Thanksgiving Breaks and such!

Actually, my husband does want to go out west sometime. I tease him and ask him what's out there? He doesn't want to go far enough west to see the ocean that way, so what's the point! I told him when he has been at his job long enough to get three weeks vacation, I'll agree, as long as I still get my time at the beach, too! He's agreeable, thank goodness! And once we move to the beach, there will be no need to vacation there, so I'll go anywhere he wants on vacation then! See, I'm not hard to get along with!

Janet, did I miss something? Did you post a report of your vacation and/or pics and I missed it?

By Janet on Monday, June 12, 2006 - 10:04 am:

Pam, I haven't really posted a report, and I don't know how to do photos, so no, you didn't miss anything! LOL It was really wonderful! The girls and I LOVED the beach (so did dh, but he's not one to just relax and enjoy...always has to be doing something)! We had perfect weather, perfect everything (except the first night, which was the tail-end of the biker's rally). We dolphin-watched, boated, parasailed, shopped, ate, played in the ocean, ate, built sand castles, ate, went to Medieval Times (kinda a waste, IMHO)...did I mention we ate? LOL It was one of the best experiences! We're asking the girls which was better...Disney World or Myrtle Beach, and they can't decide! :)

Actually, Adena, the Pacific is very wonderful, too! I love San Diego and the Oregon coast is a beautiful, rugged coastline that takes your breath away. But we drive on our vacations, and Illinois is just that much further away from the left side of the US. Dh told me last night that he loved MB, but it was so FAR! Well, yes... but he was the one always talking about how driving and seeing the US was the only way to go (I think the gas prices sobered him up this year). He's talking about going to Wisconsin next year. I love Wisconsin, but! *sigh* It's only June, right? I've got plenty of time to figure something out..

Another thing on my mind is that our oldest dd is 16, which means only a couple more years of family vacations. We only started taking them last year, so I feel like our time with her is definitely coming to an end. I think that's why I'm so whatever I am when it comes to vacations. I don't want to waste any time!

By Luvn29 on Monday, June 12, 2006 - 07:25 pm:

I completely understand about not wanting to waste any time! You look so forward to vacations and put so much money into them, you just want to go to the perfect place!

I saw that you went on a Dolphin Tour on the Hurricane Fleet. We are thinking of going on a Boat ride with either them or Captain Dick's Marsh Explorer. How was the Hurricane Fleet? Did you see a lot of dolphins? Help me decide!!!
