Why is it???

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2006: Why is it???

Every since we've moved into our new house the cat (Gizmo, AKA His Highness) thinks he can sleep on my dining room table and lay on the kitchen counters??? I really hate finding cat hair on my placemats! He knows he's not supposed to be up there. Now I'm not ignorant and I know in the old house he'd be up there, but he knew to get off if I came in the room! lol Here it's like he's saying, "Yeah? So what's the problem?" Little dingbat. :) Dh is getting fed up, not only because of the hair (Gross!) but we've found little cat scratches on our nice, wood table! Ugh. Well at least he's not running around the house at 1am meowing his head off anymore. Just venting, I guess. :)

Some cats aren't so good at adjusting to major changes.

Just be on the lookout for him spraying. That is a sign His Highness not content with the change of venue. :)

Oh, I don't even want to go there! lol He's fixed and never sprayed (that I know of and I think I'd know--PU!!!). Fur-babies can sure be a handful at times. :)

We went through the same thing a year ago with our cat.I had to get a spray bottle with water and spray her when I didn't want her on the table. It did work, it just took a couple of days

Cats are like children, only with fur. smileycat

Ditto the spray bottle!!

I use a spray bottle to discourage Scott's cat. He tends to forget in between times, but one spray and for the next month he jumps when I just wave the bottle at him.

Actually, Trina, you can train children as they get older - not often true of cats. BTDT both ways.
