How's Jade doing after her surgery?

By Tonya on Friday, November 7, 2008 - 10:28 am:

Not too bad actually. The first few days were rough but she is not really needing the pain meds any more. She is eating soup, eggs and fruit cups and tons of yogurt and popsicles. Her nose is running like a water hose and it is making her mad. She has been really calm lately which has been really nice. Thanks for checking. I will keep you updated.

Tonya, did she have her adnoids taken out too? I can't remember exactly what you said she was having done. When ds had his adnoids out he had horrible drainage and a runny nose for 2 weeks. It is a side effect of the surgery. I was told to give ds Robitussin DM. It really helped. So, if it continues to bother her, you might want to ask her doctor about it.

She had both taken out adnoids and tonsils. He drainage was done after like 2 days now we are just trying to get through the nights. She needs no pain meds during the day only night time.

She crys so hard at night around 12am or 1am then again around like 6am. Once she drinks a good amount of water it is better.

She decided this morning she needed to go back to school. So I took her so far she is having a great day.

Great news. When she is all healed you will not believe the difference in her sleeping habits and well-being throughout the day :)

Well I am for sure ready for the good nights of sleep and the great days without tantrums.
