Just a quick share....

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2008: Just a quick share....
By Dana on Monday, October 20, 2008 - 11:58 pm:

I've been doing a new work at home business these last 5 weeks and today I made my first big bonus goal! Reaching my goal allows me a bonus of $200!!!! I'm just really excited, esp since I don't have my babysitting job any more.

Thanks for letting me shout it out. I'm really excited.

By Marcia on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 08:08 am:

Congrats!! What's the new business?

By Dana on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 08:32 am:

Marcia, thanks for asking, but I'd rather keep the actual "business stuff" off the boards. It is so difficult to keep my personal excitement apart from sounding like a solicitation. But I am thrilled with the way everything is turning out business wise and loving the products, more than I ever anticipated.

I was just so thrilled to get the extra cash I couldn't help but "shout it from the roof tops" esp with MV, since the women here have been so much a part of my personal life for so many years now.

I've been doing something new, too. For many years I've had people telling me I should do photo shoots, so I decided to give it a whirl. I have been so busy with them lately, and I am loving it!!

Isn't it great to have something new and different, as far as work goes? I have been taking pics as long as I can remember, but it sure feels good being paid to do it! :) I'm happy you're feeling the same way!

I'm glad you ladies are having fun!

By Kernkate on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 09:36 am:

Congrats to the 2 of you on your new adventures :)

That is wonderful you get paid for your photography. I would love to get paid for my talents! Congratulations to you for finding someting you love and can make money with!!

Mine is nothing with talent, LOL, but at least I get to be at home and unlike the two "at home" jobs I did in my past (as a single woman) I don't have a room getting trashed with products and keeping track of paperwork. That was one reason I took the chance. My husband would have a fit if I started bringing "stuff" into my house, esp after all the "stuff" came home after closing the shop. So it is fitting well into my life, and of course, as you said, "getting paid for it!" I never had such success so quickly with any other thing I've tried like this.

Do you have any sample works you have done? Or a webpage with your shoots? I'd love to see some of your favorites. When did you start doing this for pay?

By Marcia on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 02:34 pm:

I started doing it as a fundraiser for my church last year, and have branched out. Here's my site...

Marcia, the link wasn't working. Can you try again? I'd love to see them.

And I have even more incredible news! I just got a call from the "higher ups" in the business saying congratulations. And if I am understanding correctly, as long as I always have a minimum of 8 customers, I will be making $150/month for ever more, even if I don't do one more thing (but I have to keep all 8)

PLUS! I will be getting, oh gosh, am I typing this correct? I want to say "$25" per every new customer when they sign up. If I'm wrong it is $20...but either way, that just sounds too good to be true. But I asked them twice "am I hearing this right?" And beyond that there are always extra bonuses being offered. So this may really turn out to be a great income for me.....not just that extra cash I was going for.

I just can't believe it! Sorry if I'm gushing but I just got off the phone and I'm am just way to excited.

Can't wait to see your photos.

Marcia

I've been doing this for years with no problem, and have now screwed up a couple of times in the past 2 weeks. Age??? ;)

That's great news, Dana!! Good things really do happen!! :)

By Dana on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 05:06 pm:

Age, that's a nasty thing!

Wow, I love your photos. I really enjoyed your testamonial page the most. Let me know when you plan to vist the Tampa Bay area and we'll set something up! Hey, that would make your visit tax deductable, right? :)

By Ilovetom on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 05:39 pm:

Congrat Dana- even though of course I am going....wonder what it is!

Marcia- those are beautiful! Did you take classes anywhere?

By Dana on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 06:07 pm:

You are welcome to email me. Of course I would love to tell you more. Gosh, I'm so excited I would love to tell EVERYONE!

However, I just really want to keep my "safe haven" of MV just that. A place I can vent and share over the events in my life. I don't want it to be "oh, there's Dana again trying to sell something" I would feel awful if I couldn't come here and tell everyone when something good happens with my new job.

Kinda the same way with the playroom and not typing the name out. I never wanted guests to find me here. Only this time, I don't want my posts to be mistaken as an advertisement.

By Marcia on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - 06:20 pm:

No, no classes, just a lifelong love of photography.

Dana, I used to be in your area at least once a year, but that ended after my dad died and my mom sold her place. One of these days I'll be back. :)
Thanks for the kind words.
