*Sigh* So it's been a week since I took my daughter to college, and I'm missing her! We used to talk all the time about all the details of her day, and since she's having a great time at Ohio State, our communication has been minimal! (I do contact her, but I'm trying not to be intrusive!) I'm soooo glad she's adjusting well, but I miss our talks. :( I didn't realize how boring my life is without the juicy details of her life, LOL. :)

My daughter calls home nearly every day and her computer wasn't working, so today we went to see her. We gave her the laptop to use while hubby tries to figure out the problem.

I am so not laughing. I am with you 100%. I lost both of my drama queens at one time to Troy University. They are doing great- I am happy for them - but! What about ME? LOL.

Michelle, I know what your saying. I have BTDT with my DS....He is now in his 5th year at college and I just love it when he comes home just to have our daily chats. Fall Break is next weekend and he will be home for 5 days!!!

Wow, it's September 28th and your daughter has only been in college for a week?? I thought most colleges began in late August! Where does she go?? Will she get the traditional month at Christmas and get out in May?

I'm sorry you're missing her. :(

By Happynerdmom on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 07:52 am:

Kate, she's at Ohio State, and many state colleges here are on the quarter system (as opposed to the semester system) and start later. Yes, she does get the month for Christmas, but she doesn't get out until June. (Her last final is June 7th.) There is talk to change all the state schools to semesters to allign with most other colleges, but it would be a gradual thing, if it happens at all. Some of her friends have been at school six weeks already!

(((hugs))) to everyone else missing their kids, too!!

Sarah moved in on Labor Day and started classes on September 3rd. She's only been in school for 4 weeks.

Also, they have 3-week interims in January and May, so she ends up with a 2-month Christmas break. Last year, she did take a January interim class. I don't know if she is planning on that this year, or not.

Wow, Dawn! Two months is a long break!

Done mid-Dec and go back for 2nd semester around the beginning of Feb.

Yah! Fall break here next week too! LOL. I have missed washing clothes a million times a day.

By Dawnk777 on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 11:46 am:

Sarah doesn't have a break, until Thanksgiving. From the end of her classes on Nov 26th, through the weekend.

I have tons of clothes you can come wash at my house! LOL

I'm so sorry you all are missing your kids...I'm not at that stage yet but :( when I get there.

I still have enough laundry to do. I wear two sets of clothes, it seems, since I have work clothes and fun clothes.

Speaking of that, my 100% cotton tops, which it seems most of my fall scrub tops are cotton, I really should try to get them ALL ironed this weekend, so I don't have to worry about it during the week.
