WHIRLPOOL- washer / drier

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive August 2008: WHIRLPOOL- washer / drier

Some of you have the Whirlpool Duet machines??? I purchased them last night. They'll be delivered on Monday. I can't wait to have a new washer. The set I have now, I was told are lemons. I have problems with the washer and the drier several times per yr. So, this time instead of paying to have the washer repaired again, I am getting rid of it!!! ugh

Are you still enjoying them? Have you had any problems with them?

I did not get the pedestal or the workstation. Too expensive. I did really want the 10' pedestals though. lol I also, really wanted the Diamond Dust color, but didn't want to pay $85 extra per machine for the color!!! So I bought white. :) I did not get the steam, however, I did kind of want that feature. I doubt I would have used it that often, so, I didn't spend the extra for that. Do you use the steam feature often? My Mom has this machine and I have been doing laundry at her house for a week. I have been impressed with it.

10" pedestals. I'm really not tall enough to use a 10' pedestal. I suppose I could pole vault my laundry up and into the machines in that case?? ;)

LOL! I'd be curious to hear. My washer works okay, for the most part, but if I over-fill it with towels, it leaks. We have to be careful. DH keeps saying he'd rather get new ones, but they are so expensive.

Had mine for a few years now, no steam option then. LOVE them!
When I bought them the pedestals were included as a give-away.
I will buy them again when these die. They make my life so much easier. I did have to replace the door lock in the washing machine. Not a big deal.

I got the Kenmore Elite HE machines (with the steam options) and WITHOUT the pedestals, in January. LOVE LOVE LOVE the machines!

Did not get the pedestals because A) thought it was a waste of money, and B) I don't have a laundry ROOM, I only have a laundry CLOSET with a hanging rod and shelves over the machines, so the pedestals would have made my rod impossible to use.

Like you, I got white instead of one of the colors offered, because really, who sees it?? We love the steam feature, however, and use it often.

Enjoy your new machines! Cut my water bill AND laundry time in half!

Wow...I just put in my first load of clothes. I have never been so excited to do a load of laundry in my life. I have never been SO excited to say good bye to a crummy washer and drier.

What a good day!!! lol

:)

Conni, DH laughed at me and teased me a LOT when we first got ours, because I was excited to do the laundry in my new machines too! :)
