okay the other day the gas bill was past due not my fault they said but i had to pay almost my almost $200 bill to get it turned back on the same day fine i paid it.Now today i go into my banking account and it's been taken off like i didn't even pay it which thankfully i have my confirmation number somewhere.So what do i do ? Do i call the bank and hope they take it back off? or do i wait for them to fix the mess up?

What do you mean by it's been taken off? I pay my phone bill and gas bill through their websites. It credits my account that day but the money is usually in my account for a few days after.

You need to assume that the payment will reappear. Sometimes when things go through the bank and they move from pending to confirmed they drop for a day or two, I am not sure why.

But the reality is, this is like writing a check, you need to write it out of your balance and wait for it to clear. With a check you really have to wait 6 months before you write it back. With online stuff you can probably wait only 6 weeks.

If the gas company decided you didn't need to pay it, your account would reflect a refund, it wouldn't just disappear.

You also have to wait 6 months with online stuff also. I bought a special wedding ring for my DH when we got married and they didn't charge my debit card for over 3 months. It was annoying but not much I could do about it.. And I mean 3 months after I received the ring and it took them like 6 weeks to make it.

My guess is that it will show back up in a few days though like Kaye said.

I have had this happen before too.. Paid, had it show in the account as a pending charge, then had it disappear from the account when the charges posted, and reappear the next day. I think the on line system has a glitch. I just keep track of what isn't listed and keep it off my total. If the gas has it paid, it will reappear in the account give it time.
