Kids are sick

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2008: Kids are sick
By Annie2 on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 12:42 pm:

AND last night before bed, 12 year old dd said she thought she had pinworms. UUghhh, I checked her and sure enough, she has them. I told her to put two pairs of panties on and that I would call the dr. in the am. We've gome through this years ago with other dd. She'll and all of us can take a pill called Vermox, retreat in two weeks, everything should be okay. Just grossed out :)

About 1:00 my 14 year old starting throwing up then an hour later my 12 dd started throwing up. All over the kitchen floor, next to the toilet and of course the chunky vomit was in the sink...which is now clogged. (tmi, I know!)They both threw up until early this am but are now sleeping.
I can handle the smell and cleaning of diarrhea but I am not good at vomit. Smelling it and listening to someone do it makes me gag!
Hopefully they will feel better when they wake and hopefully no one else gets it.
Needless to say, I am doing many loads of laundry today!!!

FYI, you don't have to call a doctor anymore about pinworms. Just ask your pharmacist for the meds and she'll give them to you. So much easier now!

I feel for you.. I hate it when my kids are sick.. especially when they can't seem to make it to the toilet (which my oldest never does).

Oh yuck that is never fun. Hope they're better soon.

Poor mum! I hope the kids are feeling better soon!

Oh gross!! BIG HUGS! I hate it when they don't make it to the toilet too. My youngest never does either. But after the first time they puke, I always put a bucket right next to them when they are in bed or on the couch. Much easier to clean a bucket than the carpet, couch, pillows, etc!

I hope they get better soon!

Oh, Annie!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I'm so sorry - you are really hit with it, aren't you? I hope the rest of you don't get the stomach thing!!! :-(

Pinworms - UGH! Mine had pinworms a few times when they were all younger. Their doctor called in Rx for everyone in the house whenever one of them had them (I seem to remember it was by Rx only *back then*). Now you have sheet washing to add to the vomit clothes, etc.

I'm with you about vomit - the sound or smell of it is enough to make me do the same!

I hope everyone is better REALLY soon!

The girls ate some soup with crackers but are sleeping again. They feel awful. My poor kittens!
I bought them gatorade and gingerale.

How are they today???

By Kaye on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 06:01 pm:

If they aren't doing better, get them to eat a couple of bites of blueberry yogurt. It does wonders for stopping vomiting.
