10 yr old raped and gives birth

By Debbie on Friday, May 9, 2008 - 09:48 am:

I have a 10 yr. old ds, so this just breaks my heart. I can't image a 10 yr. old giving birth!!

By Emily7 on Friday, May 9, 2008 - 09:57 am:

Why would her parents allow the pregnancy to continue? I am heartbroken for her.

"Juarez is actually an illegal immigrant, and is now behind bars in the Fremont County Jail on other rape charges."

"If convicted the illegal immigrant could face life in prison, a $50,000 fine ,or both. Whether he ever serves anytime behind bars will be up to the judge who if he places him on probation, could deport him."

Lovely.... so he is being held on other rape charges, but if the judge sees fit this guy will be deported only to find his way back into the states, or to rape where ever he is deported to? This guy clearly has a major problem, he is a true threat to repeat and the fact that they have an option not to imprison him for life makes me sick. He should never see the freedom of choice again... A simple DNA test will prove his involvement and he should rot in jail...

That poor baby... My girls are 11, I just could not imagine. :( I can tell you it would take every fiber of my being not to hunt him down and make him feel my wrath...

"I wouldn't have believed a 10-year-old could conceive in the first place," Fremont County Sheriff Ralph Davis tells the Associated Press.

Really?!?1...I bet he is proud to be quoted with that in the paper! (For the record the youngest person to give birth was not quite 6, in peru and she delivered via csection).

There are just bad sick people in this world. It is so sad.

As for why her parents would let the pg continue. I guess two wrongs don't make things right. People are either proponents of abortion or not.

What stands out as interesting, is if when the rape occured, they had sought medical treatment then chances of a pg are very very slim. They wash everything out and give hormones that discourage conception from occuring. So what this means to me is this happened and no one did anything, or that the child didn't say anything and they figured it out because of the pg.

I live in Southern AZ and this was a story in our local paper this AM http://www.svherald.com/articles/2008/05/09/news/doc4823fa7209b92937202829.txt

it's all so sad and horrible. Kaye, I would imagine that this young lady did not cry rape early enough for the wash and hormones to be effective. I don't konw for sure.

I would assume, they figured it out after she was further a long. At 10 she could have conceived prior to having her first period. Meaning the sign of a missing period, which is usually one of the first indications that you are pregnant, may never have happened. Also it isn't uncommon for a girl to have a couple of slight periods and then have them stop completely for months/years later, a pregnancy in a 10 year old wouldn't have been my first thought.. A ten year old, if she started at all, may not be regular. And at ten, I doubt very much that she had a comprehension of the health issues that she would have been experiencing during pregnancy, other signs that we as understanding adults know to look for when we realize we are pregnant. Morning sickness can come across as the flu.. Weight gain, may not be noticeable if it is a "larger" child. I was 5 months pregnant with my oldest before I started showing beyond a pooch of a tummy and I was 115 pounds when I conceived.

If my 18 year old stopped having her period, that would be my first thought, but if my 11 years olds did I wouldn't even question it.. KWIM?

Wondering what this monster association was with the family was??
