Today's funny event

I went to the store. When I got to the end of the street, I saw 4 sheriff cars and 1 public works vehicle. Outside were several people chasing two dogs. They looked similar to pit-bulls but were smaller in size. One was solid brown and the other black. They were definitely younger than a year old.
I turned my car around and went home to get a bowl of dog food.
When I came back, I got out and asked then if they wanted help. They said yes, but be VERY careful. It was obvious they were afraid of these dogs.
The house they were in front of has a back yard kennel that was empty. I opened the kennel, sat down with the dog food in my hands and called the dogs. They came running to me. They ate out of the palm of my hand and were kissing me all over. I sat there petting them while the officers got over their shock that these were innocent dogs. I left the food with the dogs and shut the kennel, while the officers waited for animal control to pick them up.
I hope the owners discover their dogs are missing right away. These dogs were beautiful, sweet, loving dogs that I hated to see animal control take away.
I told my hubby that, if I ever get pulled over for speeding, I hope the officers remember me. LOL.

That was very brave of you. You never know what kind of dogs they are.

They had their tails wagging and were quite small. I was not afraid of them. They did not look threatening.

Yvonne, you sound like me. I have a way with animals, and they just do not make me nervous at all. Especially non-threatening ones! I drive my husband crazy when we are around dogs!

I'm glad you were able to help get the dogs in a much less scary way for them! (the dogs, not the idiots trying to catch them!)

I wouldn't have been scared of them! I pet a dog that was outside of Target, when we were in Rochester, MN. He never gave me any vibes that I should stay away. When we left to do our shopping, he started whining, like "why are you leaving me?"

All the strays seem to end up at my house. I think animals just know that they can trust me.

I'm surprised the officers let you help them, Yvonne. Here that would have never happened because of liability reasons.
Glad the dogs are okay and hope the owners come to get them!

They did tell me it was at my own risk.
