Wet, icy and slushy weather

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive February 2008: Wet, icy and slushy weather
By Dawnk777 on Sunday, February 17, 2008 - 09:28 am:

We are eventually supposed to get snow. Right now it's raining. Yesterday, and the day before, it was such a pretty day with the snow all white and the sun shining. Today is cloudy and rainy and all the snow is slushy and soft.

Feb Snow Pictures The last 2 pics are ones I just took. The previous bunch, before that, were taken on Friday, 2-15.

I can hardly wait until the temperature drops and all that water turns to ice and then gives us 4-7 inches of snow.

I almost had to work at the clinic today, for someone who lives 20 miles away, but they decided not to open the clinic today. Emily almost had to acolyte at church, but church was cancelled. She also was supposed to go to a "Walk Through the Old Testament" program today, about 70 miles away, but that was also cancelled. It's just too potentially dangerous out there today.

So, we are just going to hunker down and stay home.

We got rain, and a dusting of snow. Now it's below freezing and tomorrow, close to zero! LOL!

The city had to come today and clear the snow away from the sewer drain, near our house, and up the street. We had 6" of standing water in our street.

Dawn - Those are WONDERFUL pictures! Thank you. Jasmine sure is a sweet baby. (She doesn't look like a "mouse killer"). LOL!

You sure do have a LOT of snow! At present, we don't have ANY, and that is fine with me! We are supposed to get torrential rain tomorrow. We had 2.7 inches in one day last week. I am on vacation this week so I don't intend to go anywhere. It will seem good to sleep in in the morning and listen to the rain.

You got a dusting of snow? Wow! We got about 8 inches...on top of all of the snow we already had. It's unbelievable! I don't know where we are going to put it all and the whole state is about to run out of salt.

Yeap, just a dusting. It just didn't come far enough east, plus we were at 35 most of the day, so it rained.

Sloppy Weather

DH was out taking pictures yesterday and found a car , driving through a puddle, with the license plate, No Boat! LOL!

1-1/2 inches of rain yesterday, after getting 33 inches of snow this month! Not a good combination.

Lol. That sounds like a funny picture.

Hope your weather improves.

LOL! It was snowing a little bit, when I was upstairs before! We are only supposed to get about an inch, though. It's also supposed to get really cold today, too. Fun times in WI. I usually feel like I can handle winter, but we've just had so much bad weather, that I'm sure ready for spring.

76 inches of snow this season
35-3/4 inches of snow in February alone
Measurable snow on 11 of the last 18 days.

With Monday's snow of almost three inches, the season's total rose to 76 inches and moved into the No. 6 spot, only 1½ inches behind 1961-62. First place (94 inches, 1904-05) seems safe — for now, anyway.

Seems like it will be easy enough yet, to get that 1-1/2 inches of snow, to break the old record, from 61-62. It's still early yet and plenty of snow predicted for the rest of this week! LOL!
