Would this upset you

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2008: Would this upset you
By Marie on Monday, January 28, 2008 - 11:50 am:

I was fuming when my ds told me this. The town were she lives in is having a city contest to see what business who had groups of 4 or more who wanted to loose weight. It cost 10.00 to join and the winning team would get 1000.00 so my ds joined. Sh my brother inlaw who works in a prison told her that he didn't want her to use her real name because he didn't want his friends and co-workers to know that he was associated with that. He has told her in the past that he is ashamed of her and that he didn't want his friends to come over or them go out. if my dh did that to me I so think I would knock him into next week. I think it was total disrespectful and hatefull.

Actually, I'd knock him into divorce court. What a nasty, nasty thing to say. Whatever happened to "love, honor and cherish"?

I don't think upset is the word i would use.. but i will watch my language. She needs to do what makes her feel good and tell him what a loser he is for saying things like that to her. Not to mention he should be supporting her decision to lose weight and lead a healthier life..

BTW.. that is one of the biggest reasons I divorced my ex.. He told me how fat I was and how it disgusted him when I was 15 lbs heavier than I was when we met a week after I had our first baby! He is a really nice guy (can you see the sarcasm?)

Wow, that is just wrong in so many ways........

Wow. No wonder she is overweight. I'm firm believer in "We teach people how to treat us."

I would use my real name and make sure they published it somewhere, then walk over to his workplace and distribute copies to everyone. Then, in front of his buddies, ask my DH "Aren't you proud of me for being in a program like this?" What could he possibly say? But, that's just me...I'm Italian. :)
Sounds like this guy's self esteem is lower than hers, no? Wonder how overweight *he* is.

WOW, what a piece of work..

All I can say is that I'm glad she has this creep and not me. He would be free to find himself a nice skinny broad very quickly, but I doubt any woman would want someone as beaten up as he would be.

I really was fuming when she told me and she was hurt by it and all of his other comments. But she just takes them every so often she will tell us all she is going to leave him but there is always I have to wait til now its she has to wait til my niece graduates from high school. I think she has a low self asteme and don't think she can do better or that they have been together so long she is afraid of the change they have been together almost 23-25 years. I wouldn't put up with it.
