Health question...

Okay I started weight watchers this week and I am feeling pretty good, except when I drink all my water (8 to 10 8 oz glasses) my back (kidney area) is hurting really bad. I don't know if I should just bite the bullet and go to the dr or if maybe my body just isn't use to drinking this much? Any suggestions? I have had kidney/bladder infections before but I have none of the normal symptoms that I have had before, like frequency and feeling generally bad.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a quick care you could go to, to just have a urine test done? We have them at Walmart and it's cheaper than seeing a doctor. It's staffed by nurse practitioners.

Quick Care

I know you won't have exactly that, but that is what I could go to, if I wanted to. If it is more than a n NP could handle, you would get referred to a doctor. I'm not sure why drinking the water would cause pain.

I wouldn't think the water would cause pain either. I am thinking you have a kidney infection, maybe the bladder and the UT aren't affected yet. You should go to the doctor and let them tell you otherwise.

I do know that a my friend neve drank water and started drinking allot more in a day and she went to the Dr with pain like you are describing he told her that her body just had to adjust to the different intake amount and after a few weeks she was fine.

Go to the Dr tell them what is going on and good luck!!

Well I do drink water and always have but I am drinking a little more than I used to. I went to the dr yesterday because the pain wasn't getting any better and Bobbie was right.. I have a kidney infection.

I guess I just didn't get any of the other signs.

Yikes. It's a good thing you went in.

I'm so glad you went to the doctor early on. Many years ago I had a kidney infection and didn't got to the doctor until it hurt so much I thought my back was breaking. I spent the next 3 days very sick and sleeping almost constantly - my husband had to wake me up to drink water and broth and even then I didn't wake up much.
