Insurance and working for a temporary agency

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2008: Insurance and working for a temporary agency
By Anonymous on Saturday, January 19, 2008 - 08:17 pm:

My dad started drawing disability a few weeks ago. He really needs to go to the doctor SOON, but he won't go since he doesn't have any insurance. The insurance won't kick in until October. We've tried getting him to go the health department or check into other options, but he won't. What if my mom got a job working at a temporary agency? I know they offer insurance after a couple of weeks and even cover preexisting conditions. But would this effect my dad's disability income with my mom bringing in some money?

Not sure on the disability but with most agencies unless your mom is on a long term assignment she will not get insurance. Good luck insurance is an awful thing to not have I know I haven't had it in a while and it is hard to get yourself to go to the Dr's. Tell him to go to the state and maybe they will work somethign out with him. Good luck to your parents.
