Has anyone figured out where they are going on spring break? We just finalized our plans to head to Destin. It's only 2 months and 2 weeks away. This year my son's best friend and my dd's good friend are all going to be staying in the same condo complex. So, they will be able to hang with their friends on the beach and in the pool.

We're taking our vacation early this year, because of my niece's reading week in college. We're going from Feb 23-March 1, and we're cruising. There will be about 30 of us going, and I can't wait!

Our big vacation is a cruise in October. October is my favorite time to travel!
Granted, we live in Florida, so we can swim, go to the beach, etc, all the time We tend to "vacation" in the cooler months.

We are going to the lake for a week this summer, so we have no big plans for spring break. Dh is taking the week off. We are actually going to overhaul our garage....take everything out, paint the floor, and organize it. We may take a weekend trip to the lake to fish or something, but that would be it.

We weren't able to vacation last year because of the kids' sports schedules. We managed to get to Florida over Spring Break - we went to St. George's Island last year. So this year, we are doing Destin and going to Michigan for a week or so in July to camp and sightsee. We are planning some longer weekends around some of the softball tournaments. We bought a camper last year and hope to use it more this summer.

Colette - we've talked about going to Vermont skiing before. Any recommendations on a good spot or area?

Dora, it depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

We are going to the killington area. Normally, I wouldn't go there because the lift tickets ski rocketed pricewise this year. However, dh has a friend, that owns a vacation home and he offered to us at a great rate, and if by some fluke the weather is crappy, he won't charge us for cancelling.

our big trip will be in July, we are going to Prince Edwards Island for a week.

We are headed to Oklahoma for Spring break, like every year to visit the inlaws. It is always a fun trip, we are looking forward to it. We actually won't have to drive 18 hours in a small car this year though, since we bought a minivan this year!!

spring break for me is really going to be a break from my kids... they are going with my parents and my sister's family skiing in CO so my dh and I will have a week alone although we have to work that week. We might take a day off or something and jsut spend time together.

We don't ever go anywhere, for spring break. For me, not having to work at school for a week is break enough. I get to just focus on being a nurse!

Sarah is going to Biloxi, MS, for a mission trip, "Alternative Spring Break." They are going to help rehab homes ravaged by Katrina. She is looking forward to it! She gets to go on a warm trip, but do something constructive at the same time.

Emily will be looking forward to having more time for knitting! So, will I!

For Emily and me, we are off March 21 and school resumes again on March 31. Looks like Sarah's spring break is the same week, too.

We'll probably do some short trips around the area...maybe go to Chicago for a few days since the boys haven't been yet. Our big trip will be this summer. We're going to Nicaragua on a family trip. DH and I have been several times, but the boys have never been ready. We decided it's time now to broaden their vision, so we are taking them with us this year...and no youth group. Just a family mission trip working with the families who live in the dump there. We will probably take a weekend to go to the Corn Islands for the "fun" part of the trip. I think we are also going camping with all of DH's family in Eureka Springs, AR.

We never go anywhere on Spring Break! Always vacationed at other times of year. Seems like every place we would want to go is so crowded over Spring Break that we just don't even think about it anymore! We are the oddballs.

We're going to Disney later in the year for a family vacation and Dh and I haven't decided yet where we want to go for our 10th anniversary trip.

We have never vacationed over Spring Break, either. Actually, until last year, spring break for us was just Good Friday and the following monday. Not enough time to go anywhere! We always vacation in the summer.
