Mineral Make-Up

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2008: Mineral Make-Up

For those of you who use mineral make-up, I posted about Smoky Mountain Minerals big sale and extra 15% off on the free stuff and coupons board a couple of days ago. I learned about the company here at MV about a year ago so I figured I'd post about it in case someone else here uses their products. I don't think the FS&C board gets much traffic so I thought I'd post here too.

I don't wear much make up, but since the prices along with the 15% off were so good, I had to get some to try. Thanks Stacy!!

Thanks, Stacy. I've always wanted to try this makeup and with the discount, the prices were great for me to buy some. I bought the 15 piece "has it all" starter kit.
I have dry skin which I think this will help me plus I need the undereye concealer these days.
I can't wait to receive my package! :)

Joelle and Annie, I'm so glad that you are getting to try it. I have been using it for a little over a year now and I love it. I have ultra sensitive skin and rosacea and this is the first make-up in years that I have been able to use without breaking out in a rash. I just can't remember who posted about this company last year, but I am thankful for their post!

Oh, and I forgot to add on my first post that the shipping is free too.

Annie, my skin gets dry sometimes so I just put a moisturizer on a couple of minutes before I put on the make-up and I haven't had any problems. I have also mixed a little foundation in with my moisturizer when all I need is to even out my skin tone a bit and don't want to do the whole made-up bit. It works well that way and looks very natural.

Stacy - Do you use one of their moisturizers? I have dry skin and I just can't seem to find a good moisturizer or foundation that doesn't dry my skin out or make it look shiny.

No, I use Aveeno Active Naturals Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream that I get at Walmart. I would like to try Emu oil (which is what they sell as a moisturizer, I think), but since the Aveeno is working for me, I don't feel inclined to make the switch just yet. I like the Aveeno because is absorbs quickly and doesn't leave my face feeling oily or looking shiny. It just feels nice and smooth when on and best of all, it doesn't make me itch or give me a rash.:) When I use the moisturizer and the mineral make-up together I put the amount of moisturizer I use in the palm of my hand and sprinkle the make-up on top a little at a time and stir it together with my finger until I get the right color. That way I don't make too much and waste my products.

It was me. Glad you are happy with it.
