What's in store for you 2008?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive January 2008: What's in store for you 2008?
By Rayelle on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 - 11:31 am:

I have a really great feeling about this new year. My dh will be starting his new job soon. My youngest will start school this fall. I was 18 when I had my oldest, I have never not had a baby at home with me, so this will be new. My sister is getting married, my brother is going to have a baby and my bestest friend who miscarried in 2007 found out yesterday she is pregnant. I would love to be able to pull off getting a second car this year since dh and I share, but we'll see how the new job goes. I am very optimistic. So, what is on the horizon for you?

I am hoping for a low key, non-eventful year. I hope no one dies or gets sick. I've had enough of that for a while.

Dh has been out of work since July 31. He just got a new job and starts Monday. So, hooray! And I really need to lose some weight. I need a little push though.

I"m just hoping everyone stays healthy and safe this new year.

I have a few trips planned for the year that I am looking forward to.

I am just glad about 2007 being over because when we rang it in, i just had a bad feeling about the year. I felt like someone was going to get sick or die. But we all made it thru 2007 happy and healthy!

Well, we have a very eventful year planned! We will be making our very first big move as a family anywhere between now and June from here in SW Virginia to Myrtle Beach, SC.

We are all very excited as this has been in the planning for a few years now, and we can actually finally say we are moving THIS year!

2007 was our huge eventful year---I graduated, we moved from Louisiana to Wisconsin, DH started planting a church from scratch, etc. I'm hoping 2008 is a year of putting down roots, developing friendships, and launching our church.

We have 2 family weddings this year. My cousin and her fiance are getting married on April 19th. Her twin got married about 1-1/2 years ago. I'm excited.

My nephew from Gary's side of the family is getting married on August 23rd this year, too. His fiance is very nice and I'm glad they are getting married.

DH's friend, Steve, and his fiance are getting married sometime in April, too, but DH doesn't know when.

Can't really think of any other big events that we are looking forward to.

Our 15th Anniversary will be celebrated on a cruise in October.

We may be going to Hawaii without the kids (waiting to see if it all works out).

We are going to work harder on getting healthier-as a family.

Jessica will dancing at Disney in February.

I have several stained glass projects to complete.

If we do not spend too much on vacation :) I hope to gut our master bathroom.

I want everyone to remain healthy this year, and for my DH's cholesterol to keep going down. :)

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary in a few months, and are hoping to take an anniversary trip sometime in the Spring or Summer when it's warmer. Still haven't decided where yet!

We're going on a family vacation to Disney World before Christmas and I can't WAIT!

I hope my DH finds a new job that he can get excited about.

I'm going to lose 5 more pounds! :)

By Annie2 on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 - 08:25 pm:

Well, let's see....a divorce decree would be nice :)

My niece is marrying in the fall so the kids and I will go to MA for that event.

I'm going to concentrate on me and the kids to keep everyone happy and healthy.

New Year's resolution: I will never again call dh nor ask the kids if he has called them and I will no longer push them to see dh. (he had the three younger kids from Wed til Sunday and it was a disaster).

I'm playing tennis, will look for parttime work and I have to GAIN at least five pounds. Moving forward and moving on...
