Reading about the terrible storms, I know that some of you are in the affected areas. When you can, check in and let us know how you are doing.

Ginny, they were talking about this on our local radio station.. Prayers everyone is safe and sound.... that is one thing I don't like about this site, people go MIA and you tend to worry. The Holidays might make this a tad bit worse with people away from their computers..

I'm in Alabama for Christmas and we drove. We've had at least 6 inches and counting at home and it may be an interesting drive back. We are hoping some neighbors had pity on us and will clean our driveway. Otherwise we'll be shoveling to get IN our driveway. We did put the shovels outside of the garage just in case though.

We were hit pretty hard, but a good deal of it melted today. The ice from the last storm had *just* melted before the snow came. Honestly, it wasn't too much to be concerned about around here, a couple inches of snow, but during the actual storm it was white out conditions. There was a 30+ car pileup on I70 near Topeka, which shut down the interstate between here and Topeka. One of my employees/friends lives in KCK (she goes to school here), and left to go home before it got really bad, but had to come back because she couldn't get through. I had to be at the airport in KCM by 0600 Sunday morning, to bring the kids their luggage and send them off. I had planned to stay the weekend with my employee/friend after the kids flew out, so she ended up staying at work, and we rode together to Kansas City. We left at 0115, and a ride that normally takes just under 3 hours took us just under five!! All weekend long we were slipping and sliding on the roads, even on major highways and interstates. I had shoveled the driveway at her parents' this morning (her mom has fibro, so we helped her parents with getting things ready for the holiday), and while I enjoy shoveling snow, it was quite the workout, and my body is *not* happy about it now!
Anyone else stuck in this weather?? I hope no one's missing out on their holiday because of the weather!!

What storm? We got maybe an inch of snow, and barely even had to shovel. It was certainly very windy, but nothing bad happened to us.

It's hitting us pretty hard! Hey Cat, you and the boys staying in??? Scott is coming back home from work and will have to pick up milk for us. Connor is being very good though...off to play Candyland!

We're supposed to get between 5-10 inches by tonight. We're staying in today! lol Dh didn't go to work yesterday or today and probably won't go tomorrow (he works on the west side of Denver). He's working from home (driving me nuts! lol). He did run to the store earlier for milk and bread. That was about an hour ago and he said it's REALLY cold and already starting to get slippery. I only have one daycare kiddo here today and his mom works in town. Hopefully she won't have too much trouble getting home. She gets off at 2:30 so at least it'll still be light when she comes to get him. Right now the snow is still very light. It'll come later. Bring it on! lol :)

Can I come visit one of you???? :-)

By Mrsheidi on Thursday, December 27, 2007 - 06:57 pm:

Oh yes, definitely! The boys are out playing in the snow now. It's still coming down! It's crazy! It's supposed to be 35 degrees this weekend.
We were supposed to host a big dinner with Scott's coworkers, etc. but it is postponed to next Thursday. Anyone what a boat load of lasagna?? My DH made it and it's sooooooo good!
