My husband is...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2007: My husband is...
By Kateg on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 09:21 pm:

an incredible human being. Now, I know there have been a couple of conversations on here about MEN lately & trust me mine goes there, too. But, I have to brag on him...

Two weeks ago Friday night, I dislocated my knee cap and sprained my knee (we are still going through the doctor to see if any other damage has been done). It is my right leg, so I have been unable to drive or basically function if it means walking. I have been in a leg brace to help me get around.

My job still continues, so DH (thank goodness he is self-employed) takes his days to chauffer me around & help me, while he works nights to catch up his job. He's been getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night while treating me like a queen, taking care of all the laundry, cooking, cleaning, kids...the works. He has never complained ONCE to me. Not once.

His family is coming over to our house tomorrow for Christmas, so he has spent the majority of his Saturday at the grocery store picking up last minute things or cooking, all the while not complaining.

Thank goodness our Christmas shopping was about 90% done before this happened, so, he's been great about picking up the last minute little things.

I am a Christmas cheer type of person and this Christmas has been harder since I've been basically sitting on my behind the entire time, but you know...he's been right there with me keeping me going & encouraging me. All the while keeping it all going & me, too.

Does he have a brother? :)

By Dramamamma on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 09:46 pm:

I agree does he have a brother? lol.... Sounds like you've got a keeper there! How sweet

By Ginny~moderator on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 10:21 pm:

So nice to hear about a keeper, and that he is appreciated. Tell him he gets kudos and hugs from all of us. And I hope your knee/leg gets better soon, but don't rush things. Joints can take a long time to heal and doing too much too soon can make things worse.

Good for him. It sounds like he is really stepping up for you!!

I hope your knee is better soon. I had foot issues this fall, and it was the pits!!!

A brother???..I'll take a long lost cousin! :)

Hope your knee is better soon.

I am so sorry about your knee??!!! What in the world happened? It sounds incredibly painful.

Thank goodness your dh has been such a great help to you. Wonderful to hear!!! :)

Hope you heal well!!

You are very fortunate, and it's great that you appreciate him. Could we clone him?!

By Bellajoe on Sunday, December 23, 2007 - 10:50 am:

OUCH! Sorry about your knee, i hope it heals quickly.

While I was reading about what your dh has been doing for you, I had one thought "that is what the Christmas season is all about, showing how much you care" that is a great gift in itself!

What a great hubby, make sure he knows how much you appreciate his no whining/complaining help!!

I'm sorry about your knee. Ouch. Your husband deserves to be husband-of-the-year!

By Karen~admin on Sunday, December 23, 2007 - 06:02 pm:

BTW, How IS your knee????

By Imamommyx4 on Sunday, December 23, 2007 - 08:33 pm:

Even if he does have a brother, it doesn't mean he'd be a keeper. My dh is the white sheep of his family. He is frustrating at times, but definitely a keeper. But I wouldn't have ANY of his brothers and he has a bunch.

Congrats on having a good one.

And how is your knee?

By Bobbie~moderatr on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 02:37 pm:

Debbie, I agree.. DH is the keeper of the bunch, the other three should have been tossed back. I feel sorry for the women they, have been and currently are married too.. Poor ladies have a long row to hoe with those (I couldn't even put men here and I at lost for a better word to suit them, quite a mess).

Anyway, congratulations on the supportive husband, Kate. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and you knee heals up quickly. :)

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! My knee, a couple of you have asked, is messed up. There is still some swelling & I have a new 'click' in my knee now. It aches all the time & then hurts if I do as much as try bend it. I go back to the doctor after the first of the year to see what's going on now. I'm so tired of this. Thanks for the kind thoughts!
