Those of you with elementary school aged kids

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2007: Those of you with elementary school aged kids

Are they bouncing off the walls this week? Mine are! My ds is hoping for more snow since all ours melted because he wants to go sledding. My dd who is normally quiet and relaxed is just hilarious these days. Hyper as can be, not bad hyper, just excited for Christmas hyper. She has never really been like this for Christmas before, it's actually really cute! She's getting hubby and I more excited about it which is nice.

:) She is 8 and I believe she still *Believes*. This may be the last year for that, which makes me sad, yet a bit glad too.

I don't have elementary-aged children, but the kindergarteners, at the school where I work, have been bouncing off the walls, the last two days, for sure! Today, they wouldn't listen to me, for anything! I'm glad it's break time. I think we all need a break.

Mine have been crazy excited all week! And it will only get worse this weekend, I'm sure!

But, I'm just as excited!

Mine are and my preschool students were having to be peeled off the ceiling most of the day yesterday. I'm so glad to only deal with the hyperactivity of my own three versus my classroom of 20 4 year olds. I'm glad my kids were still in school this week. They would have had a hard time being cooped up at home the week before Christmas.

My DD is younger, Patti, but I can so relate to the bouncing off the walls! Lara has been beside herself. She's either really happy, or in tears over things that usually don't get to her. This year we tried to tone things down a bit for her sake, but it's not working! Making and sampling cookies doesn't help, lol.

I think it's so sweet that your DD is so excited.:-) Is she able to sleep? Lara has been having a hard time. Even once she falls asleep, she's been dreaming a lot and waking up.

Mine are 8,7 and 4. Talk about a rowdy bunch! Last year was the first that little dd could realize what was going on so this is her first year for the anticipation. Plus, her birthday party was just last week and I think she's still going after that. I've never been able to get my act together enough for baking but we've been baking up a storm! We're more last minute with things this year and I think it's really sinking in for them how close it is!
