How long do cookies last?

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2007: How long do cookies last?

I baked chocolate chip cookies last Friday. They have been in an airtight container since. Not refrigerated. How long can they last? They tate fine but are not soft and gooey any more...

By Bemerry84 on Friday, December 21, 2007 - 09:47 am:

Put a piece of white bread in the container and they will soften right back up. :)

In my house they would still be considered good.

In my house they'd be gone! lol

I have no clue. We've really not had cookies last more than about 4 days. Good luck!

The only white bread I have in the house is an italian loaf, would that work?

By Bemerry84 on Friday, December 21, 2007 - 11:07 am:

LOL Cat!!! Actually they'd be gone in my house too unless I hid them.

I think it would be fine, if it has seeds tear them off. The bread removes the air somehow and makes the cookies moist. I didn't believe it until I tried it.

Bread does the same thing with hard brown sugar too! And, yeah, cookies don't last longer than a day around here!!! LOL Unless, of course, they're hidden!

How long do cookies last? In my house...a day! :)

Not long enough! I have to re-bake a couple of different kinds of cookies since they've been eaten already.
