Vacation Tomorrow!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2007: Vacation Tomorrow!

Tomorrow night the kids and I are getting on an airplane to North Carolina! We are visiting my mom and grandpa and just having fun and keeping busy to get me through the holiday season without DH. We plan on visiting Cherokee which should be a fun learning experience and we also plan on spending a day at Dollywood in Tennessee. We have a few little trips in between and a day trip to Flat Rock which is my FAVORITE scenery place so overall it should be fun. We come home on January 3rd and the Friday after that marks the halfway mark through this lousy deployment! Yay!

Have you been to Dollywood for the Christmas lights? It's beautiful! Make sure you catch the "Carol of the Trees" light show and the Toy parade that goes through the park. It's cold but so much fun! Make sure you have hats and gloves!

I have never even been to Tennessee! LOL I am excited! I was reading about the "must see" things on dollywood.com. We are fully packed with hats, gloves and scarves! My thin blood is in for a real culture shock!

My dh is from Hendersonville. So I know exactly where you are talking about. We were going to go to Cherokee that last time we were there and didn't make it. We go every year so there is plenty of time. But I would also suggest the Pisgah Forest in Brevard. I don't know how nice it is there right now though so it may be to cold to go hiking and for picnics and such. But it is a nice place. Have a great time.
