Tell your friends and family...

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive December 2007: Tell your friends and family...

...that you love them. Often and regularly. Most of you know I'm a state licensed family child care provider. I'm also affiliated with the Air Force Academy Family Child Care program. Our flight chief was hit by a car this morning walking across the parking lot to go to work and killed. While I wasn't close to her, there are two people that I am very close to that were. So remember, life is short and we never know when our time will come. Please say a prayer for Donna's husband, Jim and her family (she has grown children and grandchildren). And I love you all.

Oh goodness how tragic, I am so sorry to hear of this loss. You are so very right you just never know what tomorrow or even the next hour will bring.

By Reds9298 on Monday, December 3, 2007 - 09:34 pm:

Oh my gosh! That's so terrible and I'm so sorry. You are absolutely right, in both posts. We don't know what will happen next for any of us. {{HUGS}} and prayers for all of you.

Awww what a shame!! Thank you for reminding me of something that I take for granted at times, with my dh. Many prayers for them and all!!!

Many prayers for everyone's life that she touched. Cat that is horrible. I love you too.

By Cat on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 08:45 am:

Thanx, everyone. Here's a link to the most current news story about this. I'm still trying to soak this all in. It's just not fair, ya know?

Hit and Run

I'm so sorry. Wisconsin has lost 6 teenagers to car crashes in the last 2 weeks. I don't know what it is about teens and cars, but a fair amount of the 6 apparently weren't wearing seatbelts. Life is way too short!

I would like to say that at least they seem to have caught the person but I honestly don't think it makes the situation any better. The loved one is still gone... Cat this is so rough, this time of the year to boot. Continuing in my thoughts and prayers..

Oh no, what a terrible way to go, and just before Christmas. :( Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

By Happynerdmom on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 10:05 am:

This is so sad and especially so at the holidays. I will always be grateful that the last words I said to my dad were I love you. this family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

By Nicki on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 12:13 pm:

Cat, this is so tragic and sad. They will be in my prayers.
I love you, too.

By Debbie on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 05:13 pm:

How horrible! I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

By Cat on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 06:19 pm:

They've made an arrest now. It won't bring her back, but at least they can try and figure out what happened and deal with it. Her funeral is Friday. I guess a lot of the providers on base are closing for the afternoon or whole day and they'll probably close both centers on base. She had two dd's and five grandkids (three girls, two boys). She will certainly be missed, along with all her knowledge and everything she brought to our child care programs. I think our city had three deaths in the past week from people getting his by cars. What's up with that??? One was a 14 or 15 year old boy walking home from school. Just wrong. :(

Thank you all for the prayers for her family.

By Amecmom on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 - 07:06 pm:

That is so sad. All will be in my prayers.

Wow. I don't even know what else to say. Her poor family. :(
