Well, I went to the new dr today and he agreed with the last guy and said that we should try steroid epidural shots. A round of 3 every 2 weeks. Hopefully this will make things a lot better. I go in for the first one on Monday.
I am a little nervous because they have to put me out for it, but I am sure I will be fine. They said i can go back to normal activity the next day.

I have gone through this for the past two winters and it works wonders. I have Fibro and degenerative disk disease in my lower spine. It is scary but it is so worth it in the end. I love my pain management doctor and he has given me some of my life back doing the procedures he has done on me. I was scared to death to do the injections and I fought having them done for the first year, the second year I asked him for the injections. I think you will be surprised how much they help.

It will all be okay... Are you having spinal injections?

By Tarable on Friday, November 9, 2007 - 03:23 pm:

yes spinal injections on c6/c7. I am actually really excited to see if it helps.. I am really sick of being in pain all the time. I have a friend that has had the injections and he said it was wonderful the amt of pain it relieved.

I sure hope you get relief, soon, Tara. I'm so sorry you are hurting so much.

((Hugs))for both you and Bobbie. Tara, I'll keep you in my thoughts on Monday.:-)

Tara, did you get your shot today? Just wondered how it went, and how you are feeling. Hope you are in much less pain tonight.

By Bobbie~moderatr on Monday, November 12, 2007 - 09:58 pm:

Yes, how did it go?

By Tarable on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 - 11:36 am:

It went pretty well. I am a really sore at the injection site so I have a call into the dr today, but other than that it seems to be helping. I am not having the same amount of pain in my arm. They said i probably wouldn't feel the full effect of it for a few days, I guess it has to have time to work or something.

It was a little more than just a shot they put me under and gave me the shot around my spinal cord in the epidural tube or something like that. So I was pretty out of it most of the day yesterday.

That would be how mine were done too. I have had pain in the injections sites also and I would need to ice the spots. Being out of it is common also, we are required to have a driver if we are to have any procedures done.

Hope you start to feel improvement.
