An amazing sight!

My kids had just gotten off the bus the other day when ds looked up in the sky and said "BALD EAGLE!" Since we don't have bald eagles in NE Ohio, i was thinking that there was no way and that it was probably the same hawks we always see. Well, I looked up and believe it or not there was a Bald Eagle flying over our house!!! I could not believe my eyes. It was the most beautiful thing! I am positive it was a bald eagle, it was flying low enough for us to see his head, eyes, beak, etc.
I don't know if some of you live in an area where it isn't surprising to see a bald eagle, but here in the Cleveland area it's just unheard of. It would be like seeing a Flamingo in Alaska. :)

I was so sad that I didn't have my camera outside with me!!

They are so beautiful! I am glad you got to see one. We get them late winter/early spring. They nest along our river.

Wow! That is so cool. I'd love to see a Bald Eagle in person. I've only ever seen them in that WebCam thing someone posted about a long time ago. And how neat that your DS found it first!

We've had one in our yard up in our trees a few times. They are very big and beautiful!

I looked up Bald Eagles and it said that they do inhabit all 50 states.

I suspect they're not a rare sight for us because we live in a rural area near a river and have lots of rodents for them to prey on.
