Chemo Angels

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2007: Chemo Angels
By Kateg on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 - 09:36 pm:

A few years ago I found out about the Chemo Angels program. At that time, it touched my heart, but I was unable to participate as an Angel. It stayed somewhere in the back of my mind until this year. I saw one of the threads of an Angel requesting cards for her Buddy and that dedication of hers and other Angels that are on this site planted a seed for me & it began an experience this year that I will never forget. I got my first Buddy in March of this year and I have been fortunate to get to know her and her family. It has been a remarkable year. She is officially graduating now (Yeah!!! Woohooo!!!!) & I'm working on my graduation gift for her.

I just wanted to say thank you to the other Angels on here as their actions and words spoke volumes to me before I joined and since. I'm going to be signing up for another Buddy soon.

Thank you!!! :)

It really *is* fulfilling to help someone in this way, isn't it? I had my buddy for 16 months. Unfortunately, the week she graduated, she also found out her cancer had returned, and she passed away on Labor Day. She touched my life as much as I touched hers.

Kudos to you for becoming involved in the program. I think it's a wonderful organization.

It is a rewarding program. I am happy to be a part of it.
Congrats on your buddy graduating!
My first buddy did not make it. She is the one that I requested cards for. Her memory lives on and I am still in contact with her family. She made a huge impact on my life.
My new buddy is a little boy. It is heart wrenching to see a child with cancer.
