According to what I've heard on my all-news station and read, this 14 year old boy planned a Columbine type shooting at a near-by suburban high school. The boy was bullied in middle school and his parents decided to home school him. From what I read and hear, the mother bought a semi-automatic rifle for the boy, and black powder from which he made grenades, plus a 22 caliber rifle, a 22 automatic handgun, a number of BB guns and other weapons.

Clearly the boy desperately needs psychiatric help - but what on earth were his parents thinking?

Mental illness can be hereditary, or the boy could be a product of his environment. I would hope that the authorities give psychiatric evaluations to the parents as well. It goes a lot further than their desire to "indulge" their son.

I agree Lisa, this is just absolutely crazy. I am in amazement, they all three need to be in jail or a mental facility.
