Mountain Getaway in Gatlinburg???

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2007: Mountain Getaway in Gatlinburg???
By Reds9298 on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - 04:11 pm:

Hope someone can think of this! I know that someone took a vacation there in the last year or so, and I had hear do this place before but lost the bookmark for it. It's cabin-type accomodations in the mountains of Gatlinburg,TN. I'm desparately trying to think of the name and can come up with nothing. It's driving me crazy! I'll know it when I hear/see it. We're budgeting for our anniversary next year and this is one of our lower budget options. Anyone?? Thank you!

We like to stay in Wears Valley in Pigeon Forge rather than stay in Gatlinburg.. We have used Dodgen Cabins about 6 times for anniversary trips and have always been happy with them.

Thank you, but that's not it!:) I'll look into that, too, though. I just remember that these were ideal and just beautiful.

Are you trying to remember a particular name of a cabin/ resort? Have you ever been to Gatlinburg? It is gorgeous. And so is Pidgeon Forge. PF is not as expensive as Gatlinburg, too.

It's near Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. This is making me so mad! I KNOW the name and can't think of it! Yes, it's a particular one - balconies with hot tubs overlooking the mountains. I can see it in my head!

I remember the thread but can't remember the one she stayed at. She left a link to her cabin and it was beautiful. I was thinking she stayed in Pigeon Forge though. It's a very short drive between the two.

We have used Fireside Chalets 2 of the last 3 times we were there. The range is reasonable to pricey but I haven't been disappointed with the reasonable.

Good luck

I don't know the particular ones, but just to let you know, there are tons of chalets and cabins in Gatlinburg that are just as you described. Do a google for gatlinburg cabin rentals, and I'm sure you'll come up with tons. I've been there probably thirty times in my life because we only live a couple hours away. But we always stay on the main road in a nice hotel with a pool because that is our desire. We have stayed in a nice cabin with my cousins before and that was wonderful, too.

Thanks ladies. I've been searching like you suggested Adena but just can't find it for some reason. I really think I'll know it when I see it, but maybe I'm way off. Thank you.

Deanna, it was Dana(I think) that rented the cabin. I had it bookmarked too at one time, but don't have it anymore. For the life of me, I can't remmber the name.

Or is it that one? Or are they the same?

Kate- I'm almost positive that's it! Thank you! I don't know how I missed it when I was searching, but there are so many. Thanks!!

Oh that should definitely be it, Deanna. Thanks to Debbie's memory I did a search on Dana's posts and found this:

But the links no longer worked so I just googled sugar maple cabins. :)
