Dart boards

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2007: Dart boards
By Kaye on Monday, July 9, 2007 - 10:05 pm:

Does anyone have one? It is a long story, but I think I want one. It is so not my style, but I love the family entertainment value.

So if you have one, where did you buy it? what type do you have? Any suggestions or thoughts?

I think I want an electronic one, but don't care so much if it is talking or not, but I do want the score on it.

There are talking dart boards? I am so out of the loop on some things, lol.

By Mara on Monday, July 9, 2007 - 11:52 pm:

I didn't know there were talking ones either! :)

We used to have an electronic one that didn't talk but kept score. TONS of family entertainment value!! We always had a lot of fun together playing it. I couldn't tell you which one, it was too long ago. I do know that it was electronic and probably was not terribly high end. Probably around $50, although I know they can go way up. If you decide to put it somewhere in the house, be sure to put some kind of wall protection behind it. Even the electronic-type darts make small punctures in your walls.

deanna that is exactly what I am looking for, something pretty inexpensive. I think I am going to put it outside on my porch (there is a brick wall on one side with no windows). With internet searchs I am only find the high end ones!

We have a talking one. It gets used a lot by the kids. It closes up in a wood case so it not an eye sore.
Here is ours.

Thanks Bobbie!
I also want to mention, it is our second dartboard. We bought a less expensive one first and it did not last.

Ah thanks bobbie. I gave in and went outside the house to shop.

We have an academy here (sporting goods) and I found a great deal on a board. So if I hate it I am not out much. Really my only concern is I want this for outdoors, but it is so dang hot here. We will see, I will have to come up with an indoor plan if we like it and the heat detracts from the fun.

By Colette on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 - 06:10 pm:

My ds has a magnetic one for his room, that might work if you are looking for something indoors.

By Kaye on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 - 10:03 pm:

Okay well I have my board installed and we got to play. We had so much fun.

Literally, I spent 25 dollars for the board and 4 sets of darts. So if we hate it, we aren't out much.

But we really had a good time tonight :)

By Bobbie~moderatr on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 - 10:24 pm:

That is really good..
