Sparrows and babies

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2007: Sparrows and babies

On June 9th, one of my kids happened to look at the birdhouse and we saw the sparrows involved in an intimate act, on the roof of the birdhouse. On Thursday, June 28th, we heard little peeps coming from the birdhouse. This morning, the sparrows were sitting on the antenna on the roof. They didn't like me going to the birdhouse, so I could hear if I still could hear the little peeps. Their singing had a more urgent tone to it! They really don't like it that Jasmine and I need the backyard, periodically, for our own needs! LOL!

We don't need a breeding dog to teach our kids about reproduction. We have sparrows!

Cute! I have a baby mockingbird in my garden right now. His parents are squawking at him from the garden fence and he's not making a peep, just looking around. I think he was a little over-ambitious with the learning to fly lessons and now he's tired.

have to keep the cats away until he figures out how to fly again!

Awww, poor little thing! He probably was tired.

Did you get any pictures of the babies?

They are too low, in the birdhouse to see, right now! The kids took a chair out there and tried to peek inside, but couldn't see anything.

I just know we are getting scolded by the parents everytime we go into the backyard! LOL! Also, mom and dad are busy feeding the hungry little creatures.
