By Bellajoe on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 - 10:34 am:

Does anyone ever use Dropshots.com? I"m having trouble uploading a video onto it. I've clicked and dragged the video into the "dropbox". It shows me the video and then that's it. THere is nothing to click on that page and when i go back to Dropshots, it shows that I do not have any videos on there.

I did email their customer service, but I was also wondering if anyone here has tried it and knows what to do.

TIA

Does it take a long time to upload? Maybe I'm not being patient enough?

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 - 02:47 pm:

It does take a little while, to upload a video. You have to be patient.

My video's don't take that long to load.Mind you I think 2 minutes is the max.

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 - 03:40 pm:

There isn't anything telling me that they are still loading or anything. It's just the window that plays the video that I see.

The customer service people have not replied yet. I hop they do soon. It's driving me nuts that this isn't working for me.

Once I'm done putting pics and videos in the dropbox it lets me know that its been successful.

I just uploaded a 5MB video and it took maybe 45 seconds to a minute. Then a little box popped up from the task bar to tell me it was successful. We have fast cable internet. I don't know if that matters or not.

I use dropshots weekly. The service is great, so if you emailed them they will get back with you tomorrow I would think. Mine upload really fast as well, similar time to Dawn's with fast cable internet. When I had a problem with Dropshots before, they got back to me and it turns out that a security update I had gotten through McAfee was the problem.

Also, this happened once, too - when you upload, it puts it on the date that the video was taken. I uploaded an older one and couldn't find. That's how I learned that it posts to the date it was taken on your camera. It was all the way back a few months. Then you can just change the date along the right side of the video/picture to where you want it to go. Could that be it?

By Bellajoe on Thursday, June 7, 2007 - 09:21 am:

Do you mean it was back with other "December" pictures for example? If that's what you mean then no i don't think that can be it because I've never used Dropshots before, this is the first time.

I do have fast cable internet too.

I have uploaded the dropbox thing for Mac's a few times.

well, hopefully they will get back to me today.

The video I uploaded yesterday, was taken in August 2006. That is where the video was placed. I only have 8 videos on there, currently, and it showed up as the top one.

It doesn't matter if you've ever used Dropshots. :) Whenever you upload a photo, it ayutomatically goes to that date in time, the date that is set on your camera. So for example if the video you uploaded was date stamped on your camera for 12/5/06, you can look through the tabs at the top that say "year/month/day" and go to 12/5/06 and it will be there instead of on the current day's date.

Sorry, I couldn't tell if you weren't sure what I meant or not. :):)

Now I get it! LOL :)

I will have to go and look if it is lost somewhere in "May"!

I hope that's all it is! Customer Service had to help me figure that out once. I was getting so ticked not finding my stuff! I just assumed it put it on the current day regardless. :)
