Moms View Message Board: Secret Santa 2008: Adena
By Anonymous on Friday, October 24, 2008 - 12:26 pm:

Hi there, I am your secret santa. I just wanted to stop by and say Hello.
Hope you are having a good day. I will be leaving you clues soon.

By Luvn29 on Saturday, October 25, 2008 - 09:43 pm:

Hi! I'm so excited about starting this! Sorry it has taken me so long to say hi, but I've been extremely busy that last few days.

By Anonymous on Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 01:54 am:

There you are, I was wondering where you were at.

How has your weekend been?
Here it seems the weekends pass way too fast.

It is hard to believe Halloween is just 5 days away. We love Halloween in our house.

Do you and your kids do Halloween? Will they go Trick or treating?

By Luvn29 on Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 10:45 am:

We love ALL holidays! We had my 12 year old dd a small Halloween party last night. She's wanted to have one for a few years now. She was thrilled.

She's going to be a cheerleader this year. The outfit is black and white with crossbones on the shirt, and she will paint her face white with black eyes and lips.

My ds9 is going as a vampire. He doesn't tolerate masks and costumes well, but he loves to dress up, so he is going to wear his own black jeans and shirt, and we bought him a cape.

Weekends go way too fast here. They are never long enough. But weeks go by quickly so at least the weekend is never far away. But I do feel like we are wishing our life away, waiting for the next weekend!

By Anonymous on Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 01:55 pm:

Hi Adena. I am glad your daughter had a Halloween party. It sounds like lots of fun. Normally my kids go to one, but this year seems we have been busy on the nights of the parties.

I am not sure what my kids will be for Halloween.

I love Halloween, I love candy YUMMY! :)
What is your favorite type of Candy? We are giving out M&M's this year. I figure if we have extra's the kids can take them in their lunches.
We normally go trick or treating for awhile, then come home and hand out candy. I love to do both, so it is hard at times to split the time.

My favorite type of candy is anything chocolate, and I do love tootsie rolls, my 2 favorites.

Do you like to watch tv? I am a reality tv junkie. This season I am into "The Amazing Race" and "Survivor". I even like "Americas Next top Model"
Ok, are these enough clues for you ,haha

By Luvn29 on Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 05:30 pm:

I promise I won't complain if you give lots of clues! Teehee!

We don't get to pass out candy because we live too far out in the country. I can't wait till we move so we will be able to enjoy that side of things.

Hmmmm...my favorite candy depends on my mood! LOL! I like nerds and sweet tarts and kisses with almonds. Jolly ranchers are up there on my list, too, but you don't see those too much on Halloween. I'll be able to tell you my favorite Saturday morning, after we go through the kids' candy! LOL!

I watch quite a bit, mostly comedies. My favorite shows right now are Desperate Housewives, House, 2 and a half Men, How I Met Your Mother, and my guilty pleasure is Days of Our Lives! I also love Best Week Ever on Vh1. My favorite show ever is Everybody Loves Raymond. I don't have any television shows on DVD, but I would love to have these. Maybe one of these days I'll actually purchase them!

I used to watch Amazing Race, but I just haven't been able to get into it this season. I always watch Big Brother, though. It's my favorite!

By Anonymous on Monday, October 27, 2008 - 06:44 am:

Hi Adena
My kids like nerds as well. I do not like that sort of candy. Lucky though, when I go through the kids trick or treat bags, there is something for everyone.

Oh yes, I love Big Brother as well. I did not like when they had it on in the winter. That just threw me off. To me, Big Brother is a summer show.

So what are your plans for today?

I do know I have a lot of cleaning to do. For some reason I have a hard time cleaning on weekends when everybody is around. I suppose you can say I get distracted.

By Luvn29 on Monday, October 27, 2008 - 10:16 am:

Hi! I am home with my ds this morning. He is sick, and so am I. Well, it's kind of selfish of me, but I'm kind of glad he stayed home, because I would have gone to work anyhow. My parents usually watch the kids when they stay home sick, and aren't so sick they need to have me, but they have a drs. appt this afternoon, so I used that as an excuse to stay home myself. I can't stay online too long because I have a horrible headache, and this is making it worse.

Hope you get lots done today with little effort. For me, if I turn my music up, I seem to get it all done faster, and I don't mind it so much. I love music.

By Anonymous on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - 06:42 am:

Hi Adena, sorry to hear you and your son are sick. Are you both feeling better today?

What kind of work do you do?

The weather is quit chilly here this morning. I think I saw it was only 41, but suppose to be about 56. I am just hoping that it warms up for Halloween.

Not too much planned for today.

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 - 07:37 am:

Hi! I'm up, getting ready for a drs. appt. I'll go into work afterwards. My son is feeling completely better, I'm feeling quite a bit better. I have a mammogram this morning. yuck!

It is 32 here and is only supposed to get up to 38! Aaaahhhhh!!!!! Snow is actually covering the ground this morning. It started snowing yesterday evening and it is snowing again. It's early for us to have snow. Hope that isn't a sneak peak into what is to come this winter!

I'm a paralegal. I have an AAS in Legal Assisting, but just got back into it this past summer. I substituted in my children's school the past four years. I'm really loving the work, though, and work for an excellent lawyer. I just love her and the other paralegal.

By Anonymous on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - 07:16 am:

Hi Adena..arent mammograms fun , NOT!! LOL
You seem young to be getting one, do you have risk factors that run in the family?

It is chilly here this morning and no sun. I am glad we have no snow. I rarely snows where I live. It does sometimes, but not common to this area..See, there is another clue.

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - 07:16 pm:

I couldn't wait to get started, so I got my first one when I was 18! LOL! I had a lump removed at 18, another biopsy around 23, and had to have them twice a year for a few years. Now we are back to having issues again, and I had to have a mammo and ultrasound done. Just waiting on the results now...

Yay, another clue...but not a great one! LOL!

Thankfully, it's slowly warming up a bit here. 40's today, 50's tomorrow, and low 60's in time for Halloween!

By Anonymous on Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 12:01 pm:

Hi Adena
I hope your issues with the mammogram turn out to be nothing. I know they can be scarey, expecially having to wait.

Well it is a nice sunny day today, maybe 60. It would be nice if it were just a tad bit warmer for trick or treaters tomorrow night.

I have another clue for you. I live in a state where I did not grow up? Does that help?

By Luvn29 on Saturday, November 1, 2008 - 05:52 pm:

Thanks. I'm sure it will be fine.

We had a great night for trick or treating. The kids loaded up on way too much, but I don't have to worry. I have a big bowl of it sitting on the kitchen table, and they've had maybe two pieces each all day long. Most of it won't get eaten!

Did your kids go trick or treating? How many kids do you have? My oldest is in 7th grade and this was kind of a difficult year for her. She went with us, but was a little uncomfortable at times because of her age. I'm sure this was her last year!

By Anonymous on Sunday, November 2, 2008 - 04:18 pm:

Hi Adena, glad to hear your Halloween was good. We had a great time trick or treating. The weather was good, got a little chilly towards the end. I am glad it was on a Friday and no school the next day. I have ate way toooo much candy..UGH.. I have the will power of a flea LOL...
I have more then one child and less then 6...can't give myself away too soon.My oldest went trick or treating as well, although my oldest was past the age .I figure as long as you dress up, then you can go.

By Luvn29 on Sunday, November 2, 2008 - 09:02 pm:

I agree. We won't tell our dd she can't go as long as she wants to go and she dresses up. I feel if she's too old to dress up, she's too old to trick or treat!

I was so happy it was on a Friday, also. That was so nice. We didn't have to rush home to get ready for school and work the next day.

My kids are off this Tuesday, and I am off work next tuesday. I'm looking forward to having the day to myself. Since I started this new job in July, I haven't had a day off by myself. Before that, I substituted, so I had plenty of time to myself on days I didn't work!

By Anonymous on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 10:56 am:

Hi Adena, how are you doing today? Did you go out and vote? I did, and got my "I voted sticker".. My neighbors daughter just turned 18, so it was nice to see her in line.

So now the next holiday is Thanksgiving? Do you do anything special for Thanksgiving? I need to go out and buy a turkey. Normally it is just my family, sometimes we get together with friends as well. I love the day after Thanksgiving for the sales...Though I hope I have some money to spend, that always helps.

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 07:29 pm:

Yep, we went after work.

We used to get together with extended family for Thanksgiving, but starting last year, I have done something just for my family, including both my husband's and my parents. That was really nice, so we are planning on doing that again this year.

We also usually put up our Christmas tree during Thanksgiving break.

We are hoping to do most of our shopping this year on Black Friday.

By Anonymous on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 - 05:15 pm:

The days are just going by way too fast. I also don't like that it gets dark way too fast.

The weather is not cold, but it is rainy and windy out this way.
At least I am making dinner. Ive been slacking on the dinner end lately. If I don't plan ahead it does not get done.

So how was your day today?

By Luvn29 on Thursday, November 6, 2008 - 09:33 pm:

Hey there! It's almost friday! Makes me super happy! I definitely need it.

I haven't made a decent dinner since Monday! Yikes! It's been really busy around here this week. Thankfully, my mother has cooked a couple of times this week, so hubby and the kids have eaten there, while I have been at work.

Are you getting ready for the Holidays yet? We finally got around to taking down the Halloween decorations today at work! It's been way too busy to even think about it.

I haven't bought even the first Christmas present yet, and usually I have gotten quite a few by now. I feel like the season has just snuck up on me!

I got a new pair of earrings for myself, though! LOL! Just a cheapy pair of silver ones from Wal-mart. I love earrings. I can't get enough. Thankfully, my tastes run cheap! These were only three dollars!

Okay, I've rambled on long enough for tonight! Talk to you later!

By Anonymous on Friday, November 7, 2008 - 10:19 am:

Hi there. Yes it is Friday. All the days are the same to me as I am sahm(there is another clue).

I just got home from returning a couple of things. I so hate returning. I figure this was a good time of day.

I have bought a couple of Christmas presents already. Now, what I bought for the kids are nothing big, but it is a start. The problem is I just don't have the extra money like I use to.

I love Walmart, expecially Super Walmart. My husband shops there more then me. His office is right next door to Walmart(Not the Super Walmart). Since he doesn't take smoke breaks, he walks over to Walmart.

I prefer my grocery shopping at Super Walmart, I find some things much cheaper there, but it is not that close by. I am glad you are enjoying your earrings.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

By Luvn29 on Saturday, November 8, 2008 - 07:49 pm:

We do all of our grocery shopping at Super Walmart. It is located in the town I live in, so I'm pretty lucky. Most of the time, though, we do buy our meat at a different place.

I used to use Wal-Mart's lay a way plan every Christmas, but they don't offer it anymore.

We did get very lucky today. Our oldest daughter wants nothing but a Laptop for Christmas. Wal-mart had Compaq laptops on sale for today only for $298! They had a limited number, and you had to get in line and get a number to get one. My dearest, dearest husband got up at 6:30 and went down there and got one for her! Yay!

We actually are meeting my husband's sister and her family at Chuck E. Cheese tomorrow to let the kids get together. She has our only two nephews! They live in SC, so we only get to see them a couple of times a year. We are pretty excited!

Hope your weekend is going well!

By Anonymous on Sunday, November 9, 2008 - 09:43 am:

Happy Sunday to you :)
Chuck E Cheese sounds fun. My younger kids love it there. I don't mind it there, but it ends up costing us so much money.

Good going on the Laptop..Funny, my middle child wanted a laptop for Christmas as well. I can't figure that out since we have at least 4 working(internet access)computers in this house. She even has one in her room. For some reason she said she wanted a laptop.

It is just a normal Sunday around here. We do errands , and then play it by ear after that.

Ive been catching up on some TV this morning, but now ready to clean a bit.

By Luvn29 on Monday, November 10, 2008 - 05:41 pm:

We had a great time yesterday. But it felt like we hadn't had any time at all to unwind this past weekend. I have tomorrow off and I SO need it! I won't know what to do, having a day to myself since the kids have school, and hubby works!

By Anonymous on Monday, November 10, 2008 - 08:12 pm:

I am glad you had a good time at Chuck e Cheese. My kids are off of school tomororow. Last year they had school, so strange why this year is different.

I am glad you are getting a day off all by yourself..it is nice to have some down time :)

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 - 08:04 am:

Yeah. Last year my kids had Columbus Day off. This year they didn't have Columbus Day or Veteran's Day off. My ds begged me to let him spend the day with me. Nope! I love him, but I'm not letting him out of school that easily. He doesn't know it yet, but he has to miss the day before Thanksgiving Break. He has all day testing at a Developmental Center. I'm not telling him yet, because he will get totally stressed about it! I'll probably tell him the day before.

I am SO ready to start decorating for Christmas! It's driving me crazy. I get to go to Belk this Saturday for a Charity Sale. I bought my mother and me a ticket for it. They hugely discount everything in the store, and you have to have a ticket to get in the door. The ticket costs five dollars, but you get five dollars off your purchase with it, so really you aren't out anything. I desperately need some winter shirts for work, and a couple pairs of jeans. I only have two pairs! I hope to get some Christmas shopping done, too.

By Anonymous on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 - 01:53 pm:

So are you enjoying your day? Here it has been fairly uneventful, which is a good thing.

My kids schools never have Columbus day off. It is so weird how they decided different days to have off each year.

I am never ready to start decorating for the Holidays. I always try to convince myself, when I get the house all nice and clean and organized we will decorate, but that never usually happens. Then I only end up putting up a few deocrations here and there.

I do not think we have a Belk in this area. That is an interesting concept about the charity sale though.
I want to start holiday shopping, but have no money. It really stinks. I nomrally have some cash set aside, but do not this time around. I hate the thought of putting things on the charge card. Gifts will be minimal for the kids :(, but I have to make the little money we will have spread through all the gifts we need to buy.

I wish I was creative and artsy, so I could make things. Unfortunatley when I try to make anything it looks like a 3 yr old has done it LOL..

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 - 06:47 pm:

I am so not crafty! I wish I was. I asked for and got a sewing machine for Christmas last year. It is still in the box! I really want to, but I am terrified of it!

Today was like a second monday after being off work yesterday! Ugh! But, only two more days left this week.

I'm actually working a full time job this year. We thought it would help more than it has, but right after I started working, they cut the hours at the factory my husband works at. He makes wood flooring, and with the economy like it is, sales dropped.

It is so COLD today! But it's the middle of November so I guess I should expect this!

By Luvn29 on Friday, November 14, 2008 - 07:26 am:

Yay! It's Friday! I'm so happy. My kids only have a half day of school today because it's the end of the six weeks. They are going to ride the bus to my office, and then we'll go out to lunch together. I'll take them to my parents' house after we're finished.

I can't believe Christmas is just a little over a month away! I'm starting to feel panicked!

Well, gotta get the kids ready for school. Just wanted to say hi this morning!

By Anonymous on Friday, November 14, 2008 - 08:00 am:

Hi Adena, I am sure your kids are happy only to have a half day today. I think our next half day is the day before Thanksgiving.

The weather seems odd here, it suppose to be in the low 70's this weekend, then back to the 50's next week. I am not complaining. Sometimes it is hard to get into the Christmas mood when it is warm out.

I am off to do some grocery shopping this morning as the fridge and the cabinets seem to be bare these days.
Have a great Friday :)

By Luvn29 on Saturday, November 15, 2008 - 01:24 pm:

Hi there! Well, they are giving us a chance of 1-5 inches of snow tonight! The temperature was over 50 this morning, but it's already starting to drop. I am SO not ready for this! LOL! But it will help with the Christmas mood!

The kids get Wednesday before Thanksgiving off from school, and I think our office is also going to close that day, so that will be great!

Well, off to go grocery shopping! Yuck!

By Anonymous on Saturday, November 15, 2008 - 02:27 pm:

Happy Saturday :)
The weather is crazy, I think it is 73 here today, and suppose to be in the low 50's during the week. I am not complaining, but so odd.

I did my grocery shopping yesterday. I am glad to get that done with. I do it when all kids are in school, I can look without distraction and actually take my time. That doesn't happen to often.
We just got back from the thrift store. I love thrift stores, sometimes I find a lot, other times I come with nothing.

By Luvn29 on Sunday, November 16, 2008 - 06:33 pm:

Well, it snowed last night, but we only got an inch or so. That's good. We've had two accumulating snows already, and I'm afraid that isn't a good sign for what's to come this winter! But I have a new "winter car" so I am not nearly as scared of the snow as I was.

We will be putting our Christmas tree up next weekend probably! I'm so excited. We absolutely love Christmas around here. I love decorating for it and can't get enough decorations. Unfortunately, we don't ever have a lot of money to spend on frivolous things such as decorations, so I only get a little at a time. I love the metallic blue decorations. A couple of years ago I bought a wreath made out of large jingle bells in different shades of silver and blue. I love it!

By Anonymous on Sunday, November 16, 2008 - 07:52 pm:

Oh wow snow.. so glad we didn't get any snow.I lived in a snowy area for many, many years.(See, there is another clue for you).

I am not sure when we will put decorations up. I have been cleaning, and throwing stuff away, giving stuff away and trying to organize. My oldest wants to to start decorating, but I said "Not yet"...
Well off to get the playroom cleaned up, and then kids in bed, and time to watch some tv :)

By Luvn29 on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 - 06:24 pm:

Hi there! Our kids actually had a snow day today! Already! Yikes! They are already on a two hour delay tomorrow.

We are going to a Christmas parade this weekend, so I sure hope it warms us.. A LOT!!!

By Anonymous on Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 11:42 am:

Oh Wow, a snow day. It is early in the year for that, isn't it?
Thankfully no snow around here. I don't do well in snow and cold weather.
I finally bought my turkey for Thanksgiving. I guess I was just waiting for a good sale. At our local store if you spent $35 you could get a turkey for 29 cents a pound. I figured that was the best deal I would find.We are not having comppany, so I suppose we will have lots of leftovers:)

By Luvn29 on Thursday, November 20, 2008 - 06:13 pm:

Wow! That is a very good deal! I am making ham on Thanksgiving. I usually make turkey, but my mil has to work on Thanksgiving, so I invited them to my house that day. Since she will make a turkey on friday, I am going to make a ham on thanksgiving. Though, I am not sure we will be able to go to her house on friday, so I may make a small turkey breast in the crock pot, too. Just so we will have turkey on Thanksgiving. Just doesn't seem like Thanksgiving without turkey!

By Anonymous on Saturday, November 22, 2008 - 10:43 am:

Hey there Adena!
I love Ham. I think if we ever had company for Thanksgiving, I would make Ham as well. I remember my mother making a Ham as well as Turkey for Thanksgiving. It was always so yummy!

Just a typical Saturday morning around here. My husband works until noon, not sure what we will do later on today.

My oldest just got down some of the Holiday decorations from the attic. He is really wanting to go all out to decorate. Some years I have good intentions of getting it all out, other years it does not happen. We will see how far he gets today.

Do you think I should take my Turkey out of the freezer to thaw? I am always bad about this. Some years I try to do it at least 4 days ahead of time, and it isn't completely defrosted.

Hope you have a great weekend?

By Luvn29 on Saturday, November 22, 2008 - 10:02 pm:

Yep, I would go ahead and take it out. Especially if it is completely frozen. They can last a couple of days once thawed as long as kept in the fridge.

We had a pretty good day today. Didn't get to go to the parade because it was way too cold, but did go to the mall and out to eat.

We are going to do our Christmas decorating tomorrow! Yay!

We just finished watching the movie Get Smart. It was a very funny movie. My son laughed his head off during the entire thing, and it's hard to hold his attention.

Thankfully, neither my husband nor I work weekends. I hated it when he did. With this job, he's had crazy shifts before, but now he works days and never has to work weekends.

Good luck with the decorating!

By Anonymous on Monday, November 24, 2008 - 01:30 pm:

Happy Monday! I can say that because it is a short week for everybody :)

I have started shopping for your gift. I want to apoligize ahead of time for not doing it sooner. In other years my gift has already been sent. With low funds this year, I am finally coming into a small amount of money to help with my shopping. I love shopping for this event, it is so much fun. Though, I do tend to get a little apprehensive about picking out stuff. I mean I will think "Will she really like this?"

I know you said you liked earrings, do you tend to go for bigger ones or smaller ones? Do you like hoops, or dangling ones? This week I will most certainly finish off your gift box. I just feel bad that I am so far behind.

The weather has warmed up a bit today, and it is pleasant outside.:)

By Luvn29 on Monday, November 24, 2008 - 07:22 pm:

I love all earrings. But I mostly wear dangling ones. I also like hoops. I like bigger ones mostly, I guess, now that I think about the ones I have. I never buy expensive ones, though. I get my earrings from Walmart, Claire's, or Goody's. But I only buy from Claire's when they are on sale! LOL!

Please, don't worry about shopping for me. I just love surprises, and you can't go wrong. I am very easy to please. My mil laughs at me because every year I ask for bath stuff. I LOVE taking baths, so she always gets me bubble bath, or bath fizzies or something. I have to be one of the easiest people to buy for ever! So you got lucky! teehee!

And don't worry about getting my package sent out. I'm in no hurry. I haven't finished mine, either. I'm hoping to finish up Friday when I go shopping. Mine is really hard because I can't get my recipient to answer any questions about things she may like. So this year I have to wing it. I usually really put a lot of thought into it and try to get something unique to the person. Last year I had Kym and I won an item off eBay for her. She has her bedroom decorated with different symbols for love and I found a really neat handmade wooden lamp with the Chinese symbol for love on it.

I don't work tomorrow because my ds has a drs. appt that will be an all day thing. He's happy because he's off the rest of the week now! I may have to work a half day on Wednesday. We may not work at all. There's only three of us in the office, so it's whatever the attorney decides tomorrow!

I have really made myself not think about who you are, so I can seriously say I still don't know. I knew if I put any thought into it, I would be able to figure it out, mainly because so many people gave themselves away at the beginning! LOL! I haven't read a lot of the other postings because of this. I want to be surprised!

By Anonymous on Monday, November 24, 2008 - 07:36 pm:

Hello again. I was wondering if you had figured me out. I am such a snope! I always try to figure this event out. Sometimes I do, other times I am completely suprised.

I still need to run to the grocery story to get a few more ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner. I "tried" to get them all last week, but did not make it. I am horrible when it comes to lists, I never make one. So today Ive been going over a few recipes to see what I need to shop for tomorrow.

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - 02:58 pm:

Hi! I'm usually a snoop, too. But this year so few are playing and I want to be surprised, so I am not letting myself! LOL!

I just got home from the grocery store. I had to get EVERYTHING I need for tomorrow! I'm such a procrastinator. teehee!

We had to take my son to a Developmental Clinic an hour away yesterday and were there from 8:30 till 5:30. It was a very long day for all of us. He's been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, but that wasn't really a shock to us. We suspected it and that's why we were there.

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

By Anonymous on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - 05:24 pm:

I am shocked I have remembered to hit the ANON button each time. I always double check myself.
I have made my desserts today, I made a Chocolate cheesecake, a Pumpkin pie, and a KeyLime Pie. The Keylime pie is actually a Weight watchers recipe, so we will see how it tastes tomorrow. I also made a sweet potatoe casserole. It is so yummy and fattening, I only make it once a year.
All is quiet right now here.Hoping for an early night for the kids, so I can sit and relax and watch tv knowing I have a lot of the cooking/baking done already.

What exactly is Aspergers Syndrome? I have heard of it though.

Well I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving :)

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - 08:15 pm:

Well, it is on the Autism scale, at the very, very beginning. He is very intelligent, but has difficulty in social situations, and is very sensitive physically and mentally. We go through several pairs of jeans every morning and several pairs of socks before he finds some he can stand to wear. He also is very sensitive to tastes, textures, and temperatures.

We are getting ready to watch a movie. We wanted Fred Clause, but it wasn't in, so we rented Hancock.

I hope your Key Lime pie is delicious!

By Anonymous on Saturday, November 29, 2008 - 07:20 am:

How was your Thanksgiving?

Ours was nice, but quiet.Did you do any shopping yesterday? We went to a few stores, but did not get up super early for anything...

I am going to finish up shopping for you this weekend, and mail it out on Monday.

Any plans for the weekend?

Our plans for this weekend? DO NOTHING!!!! LOL! We have had a busy, hectic week and are ready for relaxation. Of course, we do need to go to the grocery store because when I went Wednesday, I had a cart full and it was only of things I needed for Thanksgiving! Which, by the way, went very well. The turkey and ham turned out very good. I always worry about the turkey. I'm fairly confident with the ham, though.

We went to Wal-mart yesterday morning and then went to the mall and Toys R Us that is in Johnson City, TN, about an hour and 20 minutes from us. We did most of our shopping for the kids yesterday and only have a couple more things to buy for them. This is the first time we have ever gone shopping on Black Friday.

It was tons of fun, except for getting yelled at by a shopper at TRU! We had paid for our items in electronics, and had to lift up the rope and go under to get out the door. This woman started screaming "No, no! The line's back there! You're jumping line, you're jumping line!" Over and over! We kept saying, no, we've already paid. We just want to leave. It was crazy. She humiliated herself by acting like a fool. All of our stuff was already bagged and everything. Sheesh!

Well another weekend coming to an end. This Long Thanksgiving weekend went by way too fast.

I am happy to report that I finally finished the shopping up for you. Now, I will just sit and worry if you will like each item I selected. I am like this every year when I pick out items to be sent for this Secret Santa event. I love doing it, I just get wishywashy when it comes to the actual picking out of stuff...I always end up second guessing everything. I am going to pack up the box, and hopefully send it out tomorrow or the latest Tuesday..BUT...it will arrive before opening day..No FEAR LOL....:)

Today seemed to fly by. I ended up wrapping every present I have bought so far for the kids and my husband. It is easier for me to hide them because of them being wrapped. I don't have to worry about little hands and eyes looking at stuff way before Christmas!

I'm so excited! Don't worry about me not liking any of it. I'm easy to please! I just love surprises. No hurries in sending it out. It's easier not opening it if I don't have it! LOL!

All of our gifts are wrapped, too, and under our tree! I agree...you don't have to worry so much about wondering eyes!

I ordered a few things yesterday, and I'm having those shipped to my office! Don't have to worry about the kids getting to them before I do!

I'm so sad to see the long weekend end. I really could use a couple more days! It's never enough. If I could just win that lottery, I wouldn't have to worry about it! teehee!

Well, off to get the kids' stuff ready for school. Another monday! Ugh!

Happy Monday! Well your package has been mailed off. I am glad I could check that off my list on list of errands this morning.
Soon, you will know who I am. Although I did not put my name on the return address other then "Secret Santa", my address is there. You may be able to guess me from that.

I am waiting for my daughter to come home. Today is a girlscout fieldtrip to City Hall...Oh yippee :)

I just checked online and saw that your package was delivered. Have you guess me yet???

I am so sorry I haven't been on here this week! It has been a crazy busy week. My dd has had full dress rehearsals and her shows this week. I have to have her in full makeup and costume and drive her to an auditorium 20 minutes away each morning, and pick her up in the afternoon. It's been crazy. Also, my ds is sick, so I had to take him to the dr.

I got home late yesterday evening and found my package waiting for me! And since the address was from Virginia Beach, VA, I would have to say you are Jackie!!!

Am I right? I never even considered you because I had it in my head that I had sent you a box at one time, so it couldn't be you! Duh! LOL!

Can't wait to open it!

I guess you can say you are right :)

Woohoo! I thought so!

So how are you doing today? Tonight is Bingo with Santa at my daughters school. Normally they have breakfast with Santa, but they are trying something different.

So did any of my clues make you think of me, or it was just my box with Va Beach on it LOL

Hey Adena, just checking in. Hope you had a great weekend. So cold here, brrrrr...I hate winter :)

By Luvn29 on Monday, December 8, 2008 - 09:14 pm:

Hey. Only the box with the address made me realize who you were!

I'm really sick. I think I may have the flu. I have been in bed all day, and am only up checking on a package right now. Thought I would check in with you. How did Bingo with Santa go? It sounds like a lot of fun!

Hey Adena, hope you are feeling better by now.Bingo with Santa was fun last week.I love going to all those kid events.
Tonight is the girlscout Christmas party, for the whole service unit. I am sure I will be talked about, since I am donating $5 towards the subs, instead of $14.

It is just crazy to think we should all donate that amount,UGH..hate being the one to stand out, but I dont feel it right to spend 14 on something like that.
