Just wondering if anybody else is reading it right now. I want to look at the last chapter so bad, but I'm not going to. I think it is every bit as good as any of the others.

Have you looked at the end? I have so many guesses and hope everything gets tied together. There are several things so far that have been explained from previous books.

We don't have our book yet! We can't buy it, until we get home fron vacation. It will be one of the first things we do, after we get home on Tuesday!

By Bellajoe on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 07:26 am:

I am going to reread the Half Blood Prince befoer I read Deathly Hallows.
But I can not wait to read it. My brother bought it, and I am sure he is almost done with it by now.

By Tunnia on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 09:20 am:

I just finished the book and I can tell you that just looking at the end won't help you as much as you might think. Loose ends are tied up throughout the book.

Now for my review (no spoilers:))--
I didn't lose myself in this book the way I did in the others. I thought it was a bit slow until the last 100-150 or so pages. I also thought the epilogue was lacking. I would have liked a little more there. I felt that more wording should have been devoted to some things and less to others, but I can't say what without giving anything away.:) Over all, it wasn't a bad book and I am not disappointed that I read it. It just was not quite up to what I have come to expect from a HP book, but I do think that JKR did tie up just about every lose end there was and it can't be easy to do that and write a completely new story at the same time.

I know what you mean about being slow. It seemed like they were at the burrow for an awfully long time with very little happening. And now they are at that house. And it may just be my perception. I want to know so much and I want it NOW. :)

I read it and I am pleased with the storyline.

By Sunny on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 02:20 pm:

I finished it last night. I really enjoyed this series and am a little sad that it is over. I did think the ending was too short and still have a couple of questions. Overall, though, I think it is one of the best stories to come along in a very long time.

By Dawnk777 on Friday, August 31, 2007 - 10:22 am:

I finally finished the 7th book this morning. I thought it kept my attention from the beginning. There was always something happening, or about to happen. Once I hit the second half of the book, my life pretty much went on hold and all I wanted to do was read! LOL!

By Imamommyx4 on Friday, August 31, 2007 - 11:12 pm:

I had a bunch of questions also when I finished. Like 'how did Neville wind up with the sword at the end." I found a JK Rowling interview in one of the big 3 Harry Potter fan club sites. And that question along with most of my other questions were answered there. Some were answered on the Meredith Veira interview. It was a fun series. Glad and sad it is over. But for some of the fans (actually the whole term of fanatics should be used), they need to get a life and go on past HP. I read somewhere that one young lady had read the first 6 books 100 times each.

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, September 1, 2007 - 02:17 am:

That young lady needs a life! LOL! I have other books around my house that I've been neglecting and I'm looking forward to reading those!

By Kate on Monday, September 3, 2007 - 06:32 pm:

Debbie, do you have the URLs of those sites you looked at that were so informative?

By Imamommyx4 on Monday, September 3, 2007 - 08:15 pm:

The Meredith Veira interview was on tv but here is alot of what she talked about. Once you get on to the site, there are alot of links. They don't give the whole interview in one article.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19935372/

I'll post the other as soon as I find it.

By Imamommyx4 on Monday, September 3, 2007 - 10:01 pm:

And here is the other website.
It's an interview chat.
http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2007/7/30/j-k-rowling-web-chat-transcript

There are some more good interviews on theleakycauldron.org and mugglenet.com but the link above is the one I referenced on Friday. I glanced at some of the questions when I was looking for this one but didn't read it all. Just don't have enough time. It is just so interesting how folks have gotten so caught up in it. And when she is asked a question, she speaks about the people in the stories like they are real. And people ask questions like they are real. For goodness sakes, he's a character in a book. I do get a kick out of it though.

By Kate on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 10:39 am:

Wow, very interesting!! Thanks so much, Debbie!

By Imamommyx4 on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 01:47 pm:

OOOPS! I started this thread with "no spoilers please". And I just realized that the last comment Harry might be a spoiler. Urgh!!! Bad me!

By Ginny~moderator on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 02:10 pm:

OK - go back and edit your post - both of them. Just go to your profile, find the post, and edit out the "spoilers"

By Bellajoe on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 08:02 pm:

That didn't really "spoil" anything. It's just a very small point, and it doesn't say who the mother is so If you have not read the book yet and are thinking it's a spoiler, relax. It's not. :)

I agree that the book was pretty slow for a while, a long while. It was interesting and did tie up some loose ends but it was slow till the last hundred or so pages when it got interesting.

I'm so bummed it was the last book. I love those books. I want to know MORE! LOL
Oh well, i guess i will have to find another series or something.

By Imamommyx4 on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 08:52 pm:

Duh! Thanks Ginny. I've been having dork moments all day. I think it's b/c it's my birthday and my brain can't get a grip on my age.

By Tink on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 - 09:16 pm:

Patti, I really can't tell you much about them since I haven't read them but I have two friend that are reading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. They claim to have been sucked into this series in a similar way to the HP books so it might be worth you looking into. Let me know what you think, if you pick them up.

By Bellajoe on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - 10:12 am:

Thanks, i just placed a hold for it at my library. I'll let you know how it is.
